I have seen several threads asking about Stock OEM Wheel Weights so I thought I would post my wheel/tire swap in case anyone is interested.
I recently purchased a used 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab with OEM Stock 22" wheels and Goodyear Eagle Touring 285/45R22 114H XL tires. The ride was a little too stiff for my taste especially since I drive though various steel mills on a daily basis. The mills have poor to nonexistent roads and lots of railroad tracks so the short sidewalls on the 22's were a bit of an issue for me. I thought about going down to 18's but decided to split the difference and go with 20" wheels and stock size tires 275/55R20 (figure I can go with 275/60R20 or 275/65R20 down the road if I want). I was able to find 20" OEM Midnight Edition wheels with Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 275/55R20 117H XL tires on Facebook Marketplace and have made the swap. I can tell the difference with the 20's and don't think I will need to go with a higher aspect ratio.
So, here are the weight of the 2 setups as measured with my noncalibrated bathroom scale
Stock 22" Wheel & Tire 78.4lbs
Goodyear Eagle Touring 285/45R22 114H XL 38lbs (as per TireRack.com)
Stock 22" Wheel 40.4lbs (Total weight minus tire weight)
Stock 20" Wheel & Tire 72.6lbs
Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 275/55R20 117H XL 39.8lbs (as per Pirelli)
Stock 20" Wheel 32.8lbs (Total weight minus tire weight)
On a side note, my truck seems to go into Eco mode more often now, possibly due to the 5.8lbs lighter per wheel/tire setup.
