True that theres been a shadow government for decades.
When Ike was leaving office he warned against the military-industrial complex. From his Jan 17, 1961 farewell speech:
“In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”
Now we also have the tech billionaires and their power/influence. 🤔

All I want is a new lower tech $25K full sized truck with a V8… is it so unheard of that a regular cab, crank window, 4 speed 300 ish cu inch v8 with a proper 8’ box would be bought by thousands of peeps as well as fleets?

Oh wait, we had that in the 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Even a gussied up extra cab 4x was less than $20K…
1996 1500 ext cab, fleetside 8', 5.0L V8.

I see your point, but you have to consider inflation. 25k in 1990 is about 60K today.
