Not sure if I have a legitimate air conditioning issue...

Has anyone with a 2019 actually measured the temp coming out of the vent? When I was younger I worked at a service station and I remember the techs using what looked like a meat thermometer in the vents to measure the outbound temp before and after the service. I found this on a website.
"Drive the car with the A/C on max or recirculate. With temperatures well into the 80's Fahrenheit, the outlet temperature should be around 35 to 45 degrees. This temperature should not change much when the engine is brought back to idle."

Yes - 48ish. A bit on the warm side if you ask me, but I have no complaints with my AC performance even in the upper 90s with the shade open on the moonroof.

I do think people want more performance than an automotive A/C can provide. While mine does take a bit longer than I'd like to start blowing really cold, it does blow really cold. A/C systems need airflow, at idle they still work pretty good. But for them to work at peak performance there needs to be airflow and rpm greater than idle.

It's not universal. My '03 GMC blows amazingly cold all the time. My wife's '15 Q5 struggles to achieve that level of cold.

Compared to my previous 16 and 18 F-150 my new RAM is not as good.

I agree with the sentiment the AC is less than desirable. Granted we are in Texas during a particularly hot stretch right now, but during the heat of the day the cabin never gets cold enough to warrant turning down the fan speed - even with ceramic tint on all the windows.

My multimeter needs a fuse but as soon as I get it replaced, I'll get a temp reading coming out of the vents. I think it will be inline with @firecadet613's 48* or so.

During my morning commute this AM, the temp in the cabin felt cool and I actually turned up the setting from "low" for the first time in 4 days. But when its needed most this afternoon, I know it will be underwhelming.

I’m I the same boat as many of you. Not impressed at all with AC.

I'm praying my new 19' has at least a bit better cooling than my current 16', which is easily bested by my wifes 08' Toyota Matrix of all things.

My 02' Dakota Quad Cab was like a meat locker in 2min.

Fingers crossed.

Do you guys have the sunroof? Using the max a/c setting?

My 16' Rebel has a sunroof and I always start Max AC once I'm rolling for a minute... still seems underwhelmingly "meh".

I can say that the pano sunroof is a hot sucker. The shade is just that, no insulation properties like the old style sunshade and there is no gap between the headliner and metal roof since it’s all glass. I like it but it definitely makes for a hot cab. I wanted to get it tinted with some light ceramic tint but they say it can trap in the heat and cause the glass to break. Not sure, some say they have had it on for years and never a problem. The new refrigerant 1234YF in all the newer cars sucks compared to R134.

Ceramic tint all around to include the sunroof and 80% on windshield will help big time. I had a blacked out Mopar 12 and upgraded to a murdered out SRT Jeep...I would not be able to survive the Texas heat with out ceramic tint. I'm over here waiting for the dealership to replace my front windshield so I can tint the RAM.

Also with ceramic tint, how dark you go is only for aesthetics/privacy...more or less, because the temperature is reduced quite nicely even with higher %(s). IMO it makes it a lot easier for the AC to do it's job.

My moonroof is tinted with 30% Huper ceramic. Will post any problems here, but the tint shop didn't bat at an eye at the request and I got the impression they do a lot of them. (Located in north Texas).

I've got everything but the windshield tinted (getting done Friday). Side windows with llumar ctx & moonroof with Huper, and while it helps, the AC still sucks. I'd agree with your comments about VLT % being mainly for looks with ceramics, but there are some gains that when you look at them as a percentage do stick out with the darker tints - particularly with higher end films.

With Huper going from a C50 to C5 nets you a 50% & 30% gain in TSER and IR rejection respectively.

Compare that to llumar with still a 50% jump in TSER but only 13% gain in IR rejection when comparing 50 to 5.

100% I agree about extra gains with lower VLTs my Jeep SRT is 5% all round with 80 on the front and it's an icebox.

Also I just measured the temps out of the vents in my RAM and I'm disappointed to say that temps sit at 50°F

I'm afraid when I measure mine, it'll be right there with you...

This was on Max A/C after running for 20 minutes.

Idling or moving? If that was after 20 minutes while driving you have a definite issue. Even idling it should be cooler than that.

Is it on "Auto" climate control with a set cab temperature?
