It would need some reworking but the current Fiat Toro/Ram 1000 is based on a longer version of the current Jeep Compass platform.

Here is this year's update on it...

However, Ram is building a truck specific to the brand to replace it...

small garage-able pickups make sense...

The new Toro, which is called the Ram 1000 in certain LATAM countries is a cool pickup and follows the Ram 1500 formula...

Even the interior mimicks the Ram 1500...

For those who live close to an urban area and don't use their trucks to tow or off-road, its the perfect setup. The package adds the flexibility of a small box for those Home Depot trips or to take a bicycle or two with you. But it also can support a small turbocharged inline-four with great gas mileage and would draw a ton of people to Ram showrooms.

If it made sense and there was no market for only full sized trucks, then there would be no D-50's, Rangers, S-10's, Subaru Brats, etc., etc....
