All,
I had to purchase a new phone because my old phone was stolen.
I bought an S25 Ultra on T-Mobile. It runs UI v. 7, Android v.15 out of the box. All available system updates and apps are up to date.
Out of the box - it runs Google Messages - this is the factory Text message system vs. Samsung Messages for the same function. My previous phone was an S23 Ultra running UI v.6, Android v. 14, the text system on that phone was Samsung Messages and worked without any problems.

The truck radio is the 12-inch UC v.4 running the 40.1 system.
The phone paired easily all other functions appear to work correctly.

The messages function is grayed out and gives an error message that quickly flashes and disappears. Something about the configuration of the phone, and check to see if the phone is compatible with the truck/radio system. So this results in not being aware of text messages while driving, unable to have the truck read messages to me, unable to send one of the pre-made responses, or call the message sender back from the radio screen. The phone is connected via Bluetooth, as I use the maps in the radio due to very poor cell service, so the truck maps are my only choice.

Has anybody had this problem?
What was your solution(s)?
I use this function(s) frequently while driving.
I look forward to learning about the solutions the members have to the above.

TIA

Check your android auto settings and check Google message settings while connected to the truck.

Although I have an IPhone mine always works if I plug it in . I’ve never used Apple Car Play .

Thank you for the previous ideas and solutions.

I have verified, checked numerous settings in my phone and the truck.
What, I am asking to clarify: Has anyone solved this problem, and how was the problem solved?

It may be the new version of Android and or the lack of an option for Samsung messages may be the problem(s).

I do not use Android Auto because I live and work in the mountains of Virginia. It is very rural, and cell phone coverage is very limited due to the lack of customers and terrain. I use the built-in XM radio and navigation maps out of necessity. Yes, I know I can download maps for a given area, but I do not have the storage capacity for all the maps I would need to download and store. Also, Android Auto adds another level of complexity that I don't care to use.
Previously, I simply connected my phone via Bluetooth as this works passively by phone and truck in the same radio contact range.
I do not have an Apple phone, so Apple CarPlay is not an option.

I look forward to the collective knowledge of the members here.
