New Ram Limited doesn’t have surround cameras?

Hi all. I am new here

I just bought a 2025 Ram 1500 limited. When I was looking at the cameras, the only camera that shows is the rear camera. When I reached out to the salesman, he told me that my truck didn't come with the surround View or other camera.

When I look at the truck, all of the cameras are physically there. Front, rear, side mirrors...etc

Is there some sort of software upgrade I can do to make these cameras active?

Can you post some pics of the front camera, and mirror cameras being present on your truck?

I would be interested in the window sticker too, might be a convenience group that you don't have that unlocks the functionality.

Did you get the Level A package? That adds the 360 surround camera system.

Yeah, I can't believe that the only way to get the surround camera system on a Limited is by getting the $4K Level A package! Wish there was some way to add it later.

A base Limited is actually a pretty base truck.

I wonder if the Tazer DT could do it? I know they have some functionality that overrides factory camera behavior. Like it turns on the front camera when the parking sensors sense that you're getting close to something in front of you. I don't have a Tazer, and I don't know if it can activate 360 surround view on a DT truck without the proper tech package, but I've heard a lot of people rave about them. They are platform-specific, i.e. a different model for the old DS platform and one for the newer DT platform. Maybe email them or call to ask if it can turn on 360 view in a particular trim/tech package. Here's the link for DT:

FWIW, I recall Sean Holman on the Truck Show Podcast a few years ago saying in answer to a listener question "Why doesn't an offroad-specific model like the Rebel have the front camera?". Holman said because the lower trim levels have a different wiring harness than the higher trim levels, so the hookups aren't there. That was I believe in the 2020 model year, so things might have changed since then.

Yeah, I hear you. But the owner of Z Automotive is pretty darn sharp, and has succeeded where others have failed. Given a bit of time, they may figure it out. Fingers crossed.

Hey, did you ever have any luck with this? My father-in-law just picked up a 25 and physically has all the cameras but only the back up one is accessible.

I do work for a dealership and have access to after sales sales code updating and do not even see and option for the 360 camera system

That's because it isn't a dealer added option. It has to be done at the factory. If his truck came with all the cameras, then he should have it. If he tried to add them, then his out of luck for now.

I assume the folks at Tazer will eventually catch up to the new "Atlantis" electrical architecture in the Rams, but I get the feeling it's a small business, so it might take them awhile to catch up.

I'm not a dealer mechanic, so I can't verify this, but for at least the 2019-2024 DT trucks, the higher trims actually have a different wiring harness to accommodate all the bells & whistles, whereas the lower trims have a simpler, less-expensive wiring harness that don't allow adding the surround cameras unless one runs their own wiring to all those points. And even if one did run their own wiring to each camera spot, I have no idea where it would get hooked up to.

The 2025s all use Stellantis' new "Atlantis" electrical architecture, so from 2025 onward it'll be a different kettle of fish in terms of wiring.

The 2019 to 2024s don't have wiring for that. I have entire how to on adding the surround view cameras to them. The different wiring harness is simply not true.

Adding the cameras doesn't work for 2025+ yet.
