I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now following the new Ram 1500. I previously owned a 1994 Toyota Pickup that I put 180,000 miles on. I currently own a 2010 Toyota Tacoma double cab with 166,000 miles, that I drove new off the lot. The space is getting tight in the back seat with two car seats, especially when hauling my wife and two boys around. I need something bigger. Toyota is not keeping up well in the MPG wars in the larger trucks. So, it is time to move on to a different brand.

I was torn between the F150 and Ram 1500. I am trying to keep my wants simple, because I have to put those boys through college one day. If the body style of the 1500 had not changed this year, I would have probably gone down the path of the F150. I like the new body style of the 1500 and I am amazed by the amount of space in the back seat of the crew cab. That locked it in for me; I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the V6 1500's, so I can pick one up (I drive 100 miles a day on the highway and need the, hopefully, better mpg). The Ram dealers around me tell me that those should be arriving soon. I appreciate the review of the V6 with Etorque recently posted on this site.

I decided to go ahead and become a member here, because the posts here seem to be sensible, respectful, and helpful.

Thanks.

The ETorque should really help over me some of the V6’s deficiencies. It’ll be interesting.

Welcome, and glad to hear the new body style switched you from a f150 to the Ram. Lots of people said the change was the end of Ram, how dare they get rid of the crosshair.

I will be anxiously awaiting your thoughts on the V6 when your truck arrives.

Thanks for joining up.

Welcome to the forum and good luck in the shopping process. . I was never a real fan of the crosshair grill and the 19 grill to me looks allot better. I jumped from an O8 Sierra extended to an 09 Sierra Crew when my son was born. I remember thinking that the 09 Sierra crew back seat was huge. LOL. It was like a sports car backseat compared to the 19 Ram. I’m just waiting for someone to chauffeur me around in my truck so I can enjoy those reclining back seats. :)

Yup, I never did mind the crosshair grille but I definitely wasn’t married to it. I could take it or leave it. I really liked it when they changed it up and went with the beard grille for Rebels & Power Wagons. I also like the new grilles for the 5th gens.
