Has anyone had an issue with there key fobs not working even with new batteries. Everything flashes and works but the locks will not move. Had to get in my truck via locksmith with my fob in my hand last night. I also had the recall on the rear tail latch done in October.
Any advice

I know folks have had some trouble with led bulbs in the third brake light on the 1500 interfering with their key fob.. I don’t know if it ever has affected the 2500s tho, might be worth looking at.

Hi @BrandoSmash - We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you are not able to determine a solution based on suggestions from fellow forum members and you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, please be sure to follow up with us via private message. We would be more than willing to escalate your situation to a specialist who can work alongside you and your dealer while your truck is in service.

Why did you use a Locksmith?
The emergency key didn't work?
After trying everything, changing the battery in the fob, waiting for about 10 minutes, holding down the fob unlock and lock button, and way more cussing than normal. The emergency key was attached to the set of keys (in the truck) I dont carry around. I now have they e-key in the fob smh. My opinion is that its suppose to work w/o needing that key in it. I've used the fob this way since my first 2013 Ram 1500 with no problems until now. As for my dealership I fwd my email (explaining what happened) to the service rep so we will see what happens.
I wanted to post this in hopes to help others or at least see if this was an issue anyone else had. If I was in the woods hunting stranded or had my granddaughter stranded somewhere Id be a little more livid, I was lucky. The fact that the locksmith was shocked that the fob wasnt working w all I did was puzzled as well.

I havent heard about this before. I have the LEd third light with the camera. My old '13 had the water leak there and was an easy fix. How would the light affect the fob? I did have a car next to me that the alarm went off a few times while trying to unlock the doors. I wonder, by chance, could the freq signal have interference? If so it was an old Buick mid 90's or something that was on its last leg.

I honestly don’t know too too much about it I’m pretty new too, but I just saw it - I found it again though, here it is.

It’s my understanding that If you have an oem part - it should be fine.
