Greeting from Western Michigan!
I just joined the forum today, but have been lurking for awhile. Just a week ago, I bought RAM #5. A 2019 1500 Bighorn, Hemi, 4x4, 3.21 gearing. So far, the ride is superb, and I thought my 2014 Ram was smooth!

Welcome. Sounds like you’re a loyal Ram owner. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts after you’ve been driving it a while as to how it compares to your prior models. If you happen to have any non FCA vehicles in your house or possibly have traded in a non FCA vehicle......

Make sure you go file for this additional rebate. Seems like they have been having problems with vin numbers being in the system so you have to call them so they send you the actual app. Do it within 60 days of purchase. Many of us have already received our checks. No strings attached.

The only qualification is that “someone in your household” must have a non-FCA vehicle.

Thanks for the info on the rebate!

Compared to the 2014 Ram 1500 and 2011 Ram 1500, the ride is untouched. They rode well for a truck, but the quietness and smoothness of the newest gen is unsurpassed! The 8 speed transmission seems smoother too, if possible.

That being said, the dreaded a/c issue reared it’s head yesterday with approximately 360 miles on it. Passenger side vents were cold, driver’s side warm, rear vents hot. I made the dealer aware of this, they’ll “look at it” Monday, as I’m dropping it off to have a spray in liner installed.

Fuel mileage compared to the 2014 with same 3.21 diff is lower, but it’s also far from being broken in.

Great to hear, besides the ac issue. I’m guessing you saw the ac workaround posted by @KcRay
I did see the work around. I work as a diesel mechanic, and all of our trucks have the coolant shutoff valves installed from the factory. The only issue is here in Michigan, it’s not uncommon to run the heat in the morning, then a/c in the afternoon. While opening and closing a valve isn’t the end of the world, it seems silly the engineers overlooked something so simple. Especially for the price tag!

Man, you sound like me. Love some Rams!!! Welcome to the world of 5th Gen!!!
