Shook hands on a Laramie with black out package. Can anybody in the Charlotte, NC area recommend a shop for some mods?
I wanted the fold away running boards but I was quoted 2,400. They are 995 from factory but it is supposedly more labor intensive at the dealer.

Not sure what’s really involved with the power steps, but I paid only 100 bucks flat at a mechanic shop to install regular 5” bars.

Dealer wanted 2 hours labor for running regular running boards and bed cover.

My running boards were installed outside of the dealership and it only cost me $130 in labor costs. They weren’t electric but that seems high for an install of running boards, even electronic.

So if I am reading this correctly that $2400.00 includes the cost of the powered steps and the tonneau cover, plus the cost of labor correct ?

I would not have a problem with that. 2,400 was powered steps and labor only.

Seems high to me.

Make sure you go file for this additional rebate. Seems like they have been having problems with vin numbers being in the system so you have to call them so they send you the actual app. Do it within 60 days of purchase. Many of us have already received our checks. No strings attached.

The only qualification is that “someone in your household” must have a non-FCA vehicle.

Direct link to form (you DO NOT have to have Allstate insurance):

Another member had posted this link regarding the installation of the "power" running boards. Definitely more labor than non powered steps.

If you look down the page a bit under Available Documentation" it has pdf on installation instructions.

The link shows them at $1,500
I can't see $900 in labor.....no way!!!

I just picked up my Rebel and had them include in the power running boards AND the tri fold tonneau cover for a little over $2400 installed. I know I got a good deal but paying $2400 for just the running boards seems really high.
