One of the best uses I have for my 12 inch screen is that is helps with the navigation system, the big screen is helpful. On road trips it's also pretty cool that they display the speed limit for the road you're on. I've watched the display as I was passing into a slower speed zone, and as soon as I pass the sign on the road, the display changes. I like it.
Yesterday I happened to have the nav screen open while on a road near my house that has a 40 MPH speed limit, and has had that limit since the road was built. The nav system was telling me the speed limit was 55 MPH. That's going to be a nasty surprise for someone eventually. 15 MPH over the limit is gonna suck, and most people drive 5 over the limit, which in this case would put you 20 over.
This isn't an "update" thing, it's just an error. The road has never been higher than 40 MPH. I wonder how many other surprises are out there. It was no big deal for me because I live here and I know that both the speed limit is 40, and that the road is heavily monitored for speeding. I'll have to remember to rely less on those speed limit listings on the nav when on road trips.
