Mopar LED Bed Lights Install?

I just purchased a 2024 Built To Serve Edition. I want to do this mod but want to verify part numbers.

There is only one number for the light. Left only. Does that mean same for both sides or do I just order a right too. Right only shows compatible through 23.

Thanks for the help!
You need a left and a right. You should be fine as there shouldn't be any changes until the 25s.

also who is trying to verify, if it’s an online place and you put your vin they will say it’s not available for your truck.

I am trying to verify. When I search the 24s only the left light shows up in the parts list. If I look up the right light part number, the application list only goes to 23.

I purchased the two lights and two jumper harnesses and it was a very quick and easy install.

I used the following for programming, and it worked flawlessly:

Foseal WiFi OBD2 dongle
VXSCAN FCA 12+8 Cable Adapter from Amazon (red and black)
AlphaOBD for PC

One note: I accidentally clicked one light in before I put my bed rug in and it was very difficult to get the light back out. I ended up bending the snap that holds it in, backwards and cracked the clear lense a little around the edges. Also, the lights dont really click into place with the bed rug due to the added thickness but there is enough friction in my opinion holding them in place. I am very happy with the install and everything works as if it were factory installed.

Thanks to all who posted part numbers and installation information!

Can someone please assist with "jumper wiring" part #'s for a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie (Without RAM Boxes or Bed Lights-Obviously!)?

Do these "jumper wires" come with a wiring plug (pig tail) that "plugs in" to the actual bed lights once installed? That's what I'm understanding basically?

I "get" the whole installation. I just don't "get" the jumper wiring harnesses specifically and any additional "pig tails" for lighting.

Any assistance with the part #'s would be appreciated for my specific application!

Thanks.

this post will have the part#s for the jumper wiring.

you are replacing the wiring that is currently in your truck with a new harness that has the plugs for the bed lights.

Here is a write-up I did on a different site, should help a lot with understanding everything.

OK, so this is what I understand, as far as the parts I need are concerned for my application/model. See Below:

Thanks.

Appreciate it!

those look correct, and of course you also need the lights

So on the mopar kit the 2 pin wires are positive? I want to install the factory LEDs but I want to operate them via my aux beam switch. What confuses me is the pictures of the harness doesn’t match the description which includes a negative ground terminal near the rear wheel well.

So after buying the Mopar kit I decided to go this route instead. My Mopar kit however is still enroute. Does anyone know if the Mopar kit LEDs have the short connector attached to fish them down into the bed and connect to the longer wire? The pics of the kit look like it’s a single harness attached to both lights. If not I will have to order the lights mentioned here.

my Mopar kit came in just now. It’s a single harness with plugs for the lights, a ground terminal, and 2 exposed pins. It’s not the same as the LEDs mentioned in this thread. The lights do not have the short dongle to attach to the harness. So for those who are thinking of ordering don’t make the mistake of ordering the Mopar harness/led set first then trying to get the new harness and expect those lights to work. Anyway lesson learned as I just ordered the new LEDs with the short dongle and I’ll return the other set.

Also was able to compare the OEM LEDs and a new brighter set I bought off EBay. HUGE difference in brightness between the upgraded LEDs from eBay and the OEM units. If you’re making the install I suggest going ahead and getting the brighter LEDs. You will need to remove the stock on/off switch and transfer it to the new LEDs but it’s just two small screws you need to undo and the switch and rubber cover swap right over.

Ok just did my install. Took maybe 20 mins. Hardest part was removing old harness and figuring out how to unclip the old connectors. I did not remove my spare. It’s easy enough to reach around it. A trim removal pry tool helps a great deal. I also did not unplug the battery. I got anxious and before I realized it I was in the middle of the install. Reprogrammed via JScan. When I shut the truck off the lights were on along with the cab cargo light. They shut off after a few seconds like they normally would when exiting the vehicle. I am waiting a few mins after programming to go back and make sure everything is good to go the same as they suggest for tire size changes. Very easy and trouble free so far install. Thanks to the OP who came up with this and the member who posted their install on the TRX forum. It was incredibly helpful.

I ordered parts from BAM today for my 2022.

Note that the part number for the left side light has been changed from 68312567AB to 68618373AA.

I will report results of my install when complete.

Thank you for this information. I just finished successfully adding these lights to my 2021 BTS edition. Everything was plug and play.

What were the steps to enabling the cargo bed lights via JScan? Thanks in adavance.

It’s posted earlier on this thread. Basically you need to turn on/enable the cargo light items. Alfa instructions mention the same menu items. I think it’s 3 things you enable. G16, A5, F6 from memory but I would search to be sure.

Wanted to revive this thread because I am an iPhone guy. What is my best option for a device to access and change the BCM? Thanks for the great posts. This is my second Ram, 2022 1500 BigHorn. Best truck out there.

JScan is Apple compatible and can now do everything that AlfaODB does.
