My truck has the rear passenger door / window open noise in it and I haven't been able to figure out where its coming from but may have found either some of the cause or all of it.
Yesterday while I was brushing the snow off my truck, I noticed the sound of air moving ( truck was remote started ). After listening to try to pinpoint where the air was coming from, I found it was leaking out of the top of all 4 doors. Initially I heard it on the passenger side, but the drivers side was the same. I could stop the noise when I pushed on the tops of the doors. It was very quiet outside ( live in the country ) with no wind so any sounds were easily heard. Today I couldn't hear it as the wind was blowing, but im sure putting soapy water on the tops of the doors would result in bubbles.
Now the truck was remote started so the blower fan was maxed out doing whatever setting it does with remote start when its cold outside, so it was moving a lot of air into the cab. Ive never had any issues with doors not closing etc so the cab vents on the back walls are working but there was still air pushing through the tops of the door seals. I should also note that I do not have any leaks from water getting into the cab either.
I called the dealer to see if theres a TSB out on the 5th gens for this issue, only the 4th gens had a TSB for this. So I have an appt tomorrow to get it checked out. I should also mention I have a great relationship with my dealer and they know I am very particular with my trucks so they wouldn't BS me around, they know the truck will keep coming back until said issue is resolved.
Ill post tomorrow night after I hear back from the dealer on what they found if anything.
