Mark Dodge Thread

Do any of you send your build sheet (quote) from Mark Dodge to dealers close to you to see what they will do? I called the dealership that I bought my current truck from (20 min from me) and gave them the price I was quoted from Mark Dodge and they said they weren’t interested. He didn’t even want to discuss it after I gave him the price. It’s like I offended him or something.
Had the same experience at a local dealership. Guy offered me $1k under MSRP. I said ( scrolling through to the email on my phone from MD ), "how about $7k under MSRP". Response was "thanks for coming in, have a nice day".
So I went ahead and ordered from MD and had a very nice day indeed :)

I'm talking to the folks at Mark Dodge about ordering a Ram. I just sold a vehicle so I'll be paying cash. They won't take a credit card for the $1000 down payment, they want the money wired to them. And when the truck comes in they say they will send me pics and video and they want the entire purchase price wired to them before they will deliver. Anybody else done this? I'm thinking it sounds more fair to pay half when the dealer gets it then the other half after I take delivery. Who has experience or feedback about this?
I placed an order with them 01/15/22 and there was no issue with putting the $1k down on credit card, in fact they said up front that they would collect it by CC, we didn't even have to discuss that

It's my sincere hope that dealers like that are feeling a financial impact from everyone moving on to dealers like Mark Dodge.

I didn't have any hint of a hard sell with any aspect of my dealings with MD. Sorry you had a negative experience. I imagine management would love to hear about your experience. Maybe they need to straighten out one of their guys. Who did you deal with in finance?

This wasn't a negative for me, but I did go in knowing I was going to buy an extended warranty if the price was right. They came close enough to Ziegler and added an extra year and the rental coverage.

Normally I don't go for these, but my last truck gave me a lot of problems, and this one will be our only transportation while we're traveling. Don't want to get stuck on the other side of the country without a truck.

Did you go with LDS?

Ok I just got my order in and sent in the 1k deposit with Ranae at MD. Now the wait begins for me as well...

Yep. LDS Ultimate I believe is what they call it.

Mine left SHAP on the 4th and is due to arrive at port on the 14th. Sandi told me up to two weeks after port to get to the dealer. I asked her about booking flights and she wouldn't make any guesses. I guess I'll just buy flight last minute. Also asked her about possibly waiting until March 5th to take delivery to possibly take advantage of Truck Month but she basically ignored that question :p
So when I asked about taking advantage of truck month they told me that as long as March 1st didn't fall past the 14 day mark I should be fine. Now, if mine actually comes in a timeframe where it's feasible to do that I'm going to call for a better chat about all of that. I have heard that incentives don't always drop on the first day of the month and right now I have 4K at my disposal between 1K bonus cash, $500 tread lightly, 1K national rebate and $1500 in regional rebates for my zipcode. Frankly, it makes it an insanely good deal as is at this point in time.

My finance guy, Jason, never even brought up any extended warranty. Just asked if I wanted the rim and tire protection package to which I said no and that was the end of it.

That is the one thing that I did go for (other than the extended LDS warranty after the fact). At some point my wife will get behind the wheel and I had to replace numerous tires and wheels on a Lexus IS250. Imagine what she would do with a RAM with 22" wheels!

One wheel or tire would cover the cost of the package.
