Loose Driver Side Mirror

My drivers side mirror is loose and has some play in it at the swivel point where it folds in. Anyone know if there is a way to adjust/tighten the mirror without taking it to the dealer. Hate to waste all day on a 10 minute adjustment.

Since these mirrors are prone to “ crack “ so easily I highly suggest you take it and let them deal with the outcome. Also this way you’ll have it on record in case later down the line something goes awry. :)

Mine one time i don't know who did it or how but it very loose and i can move it back and forth easily and it won't seat snap in like it supposed to. What i did was hit the power fold button couple times and it working fine so far.

I have a brand new 2020 Ram and my driver's mirror is the same way just a little loose. So dealer is the best, no easy fix?

I had the same issue on one of mine.

That looseness is because the mirror did not index correctly or lost it's position index. As ghiDora suggested, use the power fold button to swing the mirror in and out a few times. If that does not correct it then the mirror is defective.

Best regards,
Dusty

Re-indexed my mirror now it seems to be over traveling when it opens. Sure am becoming dis-pleased with the quality of this truck.

I had this issue on my passenger tow mirror. It started when it was folded to go through the carwash. I think I accidently pulled down too much when folding it. After a couple other washes, it seated itself again and I've had no issues since. I do have the tow mirrors though, so they are not power folding.

Just got back from dealership. Replacement mirrors are on their way. Wonder what the next issue with the truck will be?

Mine just did it tonight, power in was ok but when it went out it clicked and over extended and super loose now. Guess a trip to dealer is in order.

My passenger mirror just acted up last night. I don't know if I did it unintentionally but I pulled myself up by the mirror, I grabbed it near the window and not the mirror, when I got up from looking under the truck. Then I went to dinner and when I went to fold the mirrors only the driver side did. I looked at it and it is loose to the touch compared to the drivers. I've tried the button a few times and nothing has happened.

Did you tried manually fold and open it couple times then use the power fold button again?

Yeah. I just want to know what happened? Was it something I did and if it is a weak part are there going to be any recalls or aftermarket parts to upgrade them to make them stronger?
