Hi all. New to the forum and Ram in general. No one in my family has been a Ram owner as long as I have lived but fiancee's family is all Ram. I have had basically every brand so far and currently in a 4th gen Tacoma. Tomorrow I am going to drive a few hours to check a truck out because it is the specs I want and its impossible to find what I was looking for within 300 miles.

It is a 2025 Laramie, no extra options as at the fiancee's request I found a bench seat for more room for us as she is a recent leg amputee and I want to get something more comfortable for the both of us. I am avoiding other brands for their transmission and motor issues. It seems like Ram is the only truck not exploding major parts. What should I look at when I go check it out? Are the electrical gremlins really that bad? I am ungodly nervous after growing up being told how bad they were by my family but now that I am looking myself, they seem like something good for me to drive since I do a LOT of highway driving and then mud/logging roads for about a month a year for hunting season. Supposed to be more comfy than the others. Test drove a Warlock, it was fine, if it had heated seats, would probably just buy that but they don't and the bench Laramie is pretty well priced (IMO).

TLDR: What should I check tomorrow looking at this used 25 Laramie?

Thanks from a new 5th gen owner.
If this is the wrong area for this thread I apologize in advance as I am new to this forum site.

Do you know why it was traded in already ? Was it a loaner ? Was it a lease return ?
Because of how new it is I don’t really know what you would look for , maybe check it over closely to see if it was in an accident ?

It was a rental out of Utah. Nothing standing out on the carfax. Theres a handful from this truck rental place in Utah all over the south it seems.

FWIW It's a rental truck. It's been driven and used, not babied at all. It's most likely had basic care as needed and spec'd out by RAM. If it was going to break it would have already done that by now. As far as electrical/tech gremlins, all of us and all truck brands can be subject to that nightmare. It's just how it is. The best way to lessen the chance is to keep a good solid battery in it and pay attention to the grounds.

IF you know any Ram dealer service techs/ writers, take the VIN # and have them check to see any service/repairs done at any CJDR dealers. There will be a record showing any problems that were dealt with.

Used to to a lot of audio so familiar with that stuff lol. I just wanna get a truck and not have to swap in a couple years is the main thing.

That is kinda how I rationalized it in my head, if it would've broke, it would've broke then while in rental

I don't know anyone in CDJR at all or I would. Most I have is carfax.

You could ask to see the service record from the rental company. The question I would ask is if the truck had ever been returned mid rental and why?
