Hi all. New to the forum and Ram in general. No one in my family has been a Ram owner as long as I have lived but fiancee's family is all Ram. I have had basically every brand so far and currently in a 4th gen Tacoma. Tomorrow I am going to drive a few hours to check a truck out because it is the specs I want and its impossible to find what I was looking for within 300 miles.

It is a 2025 Laramie, no extra options as at the fiancee's request I found a bench seat for more room for us as she is a recent leg amputee and I want to get something more comfortable for the both of us. I am avoiding other brands for their transmission and motor issues. It seems like Ram is the only truck not exploding major parts. What should I look at when I go check it out? Are the electrical gremlins really that bad? I am ungodly nervous after growing up being told how bad they were by my family but now that I am looking myself, they seem like something good for me to drive since I do a LOT of highway driving and then mud/logging roads for about a month a year for hunting season. Supposed to be more comfy than the others. Test drove a Warlock, it was fine, if it had heated seats, would probably just buy that but they don't and the bench Laramie is pretty well priced (IMO).

TLDR: What should I check tomorrow looking at this used 25 Laramie?

Thanks from a new 5th gen owner.
If this is the wrong area for this thread I apologize in advance as I am new to this forum site.

Do you know why it was traded in already ? Was it a loaner ? Was it a lease return ?
Because of how new it is I don’t really know what you would look for , maybe check it over closely to see if it was in an accident ?

It was a rental out of Utah. Nothing standing out on the carfax. Theres a handful from this truck rental place in Utah all over the south it seems.

FWIW It's a rental truck. It's been driven and used, not babied at all. It's most likely had basic care as needed and spec'd out by RAM. If it was going to break it would have already done that by now. As far as electrical/tech gremlins, all of us and all truck brands can be subject to that nightmare. It's just how it is. The best way to lessen the chance is to keep a good solid battery in it and pay attention to the grounds.

IF you know any Ram dealer service techs/ writers, take the VIN # and have them check to see any service/repairs done at any CJDR dealers. There will be a record showing any problems that were dealt with.

Used to to a lot of audio so familiar with that stuff lol. I just wanna get a truck and not have to swap in a couple years is the main thing.

That is kinda how I rationalized it in my head, if it would've broke, it would've broke then while in rental

I don't know anyone in CDJR at all or I would. Most I have is carfax.

You could ask to see the service record from the rental company. The question I would ask is if the truck had ever been returned mid rental and why?

From last night. They didnt do the GREATEST job cleaning it so as soon as its not below freezing outside ill be cleaning it. But it was a 5 hour drive home picking it up. Im sold on Ram now. No issues driving home. I genuinely havent been in a nicer vehicle. The shift knob takes getting used to but feels premium/high end. The thing is eerily quiet with the double pane windows. The plastic inside doesnt creak. The door panels are actually solid, my biggest gripe on my Taco was how flimsy the plastic was especially on the doors. I really don't know what else to say besides "I get it now". I love the seats, the electric move back when you kill the truck. The radio isnt laggy and sounds good w the Alpine. I really don't have much bad to say.

NOW. To do list:
-tint the front windows and windshield, i have bad astigmatism so I can get the windshield. Driving at night was not fun.
-SIDE STEPS
-rubber bed mat? Would like bed liner but that's expensive.
-Wash and ceramic coat it
-check out the tire situation as there is 1 mismatched brand for some reason. Used vehicle, not really surprised.

Besides that nothing else out of wack or changes planned to be made. Maybe in the future would do the BOV and exhaust and a programmer but for now its gotta stay a reliable daily. Will post pics as I make changes. I have purchased a few vehicles myself but I dont think I have ever felt better about buying one before this. I think this is the first truck ive felt this good about since highschool.

Funnymunny, for a simple bedmat, check out Tractor Supply. Also, getting tint on the front windshield has caused problems for some. Check into that before going ahead with it. There’s been threads on this.

i think we are all biased here. i always had cars the only truck i ever had was a 92 Silverado reg cab sb. for me a full size V8 truck has to be American. when i went shopping ford was a no go i just didn't like it, chevy was priced high for what it is and the build quality was dodo, ram had the best interior hands down no matter the trim level, the best ride and the best value.....the laramie is perfect! enough luxury not over the top it can be a nice work truck or a nice going to town rig.
nothing is perfect every vehicle will have issues. the i-6 laramie is nice you made the right choice.

Thank you for the heads up! I will dig into that see what i an find. And also will check for a bed mat. Need soemthing before I hunt this weekend.

Lasfit makes a good drop in med mat.

Also to touch on the windshield topic I have a limited with all the cameras sensors etc possible and went 35% with 0 issues and love it. Probably a top must have mod for a truck.
