Is this possible?

When I select ORG, the configurator gives me eLocker and allows me to pick the 3.21 axle.

But if I DON'T select ORG, it forces me into a 3.92 axle when I pick eLocker.

Thanks DD... I'm afraid my mind has exploded and I may not be seeing what you are showing me.

I want a 4x4 Limited without ORG, but with eLocker and 3.21.

Both the configurator and the image you posted seem to say *not* possible i.e. "standard ride height (eLocker) available only on 3.92".

Are you saying that when I go place an order, this setup is indeed possible?

Try selecting the 3.92 axle BEFORE you get to the Off Road Group and DO NOT select locking axle as that is include in the Off Road Group...Same thing I saw on my Longhorn order.

Youhave to have raised ride height to select rear gear.

I did confuse with saying it is possible, but didn't realize you wanted what isn't possible.

Sorry

I thought you were asking if what it said was possible, not that you wanted it to be possible.

I see now that your question was in the title.

Sorry.

No, you can not get a limited with 3.21 rear gear and eLocker unless you get the ORG.

Np, T; thanks for chiming in.

I want the softest ride possible which is why I'm considering a truck without ORG. IIUC, that comes with "extra" HD shocks and some people say it's a wee tad bit stiffer.

I have the Limited with the 3.21 and AntiSpin and it makes for a nice land yacht. Handles nicely without a lot of body lean and cruises down the highway. I'm still contemplating a tire swap, but will probably pull the trigger pretty soon. I want the extra winter grip and Michelin makes a quiet nice riding tire.

Hey Gman. Have you played with that Antispin axle in loose or slippery conditions? Are you happy with it?

My AWD Durango has open differentials but has traction control with BLD (brake lock differential).

On road, it's a phenomenal system and is glued to the road in the rain.

Off road, however, I get more tire spin than I like before the system activates and begins shifting torque.

I'm hoping to minimize this unecessary off road tire spin with the eLocker. But if the Antispin behaves like the eLocker...

I have kept the truck under me in the recent snow, but our street is still icy when I came home tonight. I'll see what happens in 2WD when I get out in the a.m. (hopefully I'll remember).

I played around with it a little this morning on the way to work. Traction control is pretty aggressive and cuts power in 2WD with slippage. I turned off traction control and was able to spin both back wheels a bit. I couldn't really tell when there was a transition from single tire slip to both. My previous experience with a mechanical locker was with my old Tahoe. There was a noticeable bump when a tire slipped and the rear axle locked. There was also some drag with turning until the mechanical locker would let go.

Biggest performance difference between the AntiSpin and E-locker from what I've been able to find is that E-locker locks the axle right away to prevent any side slip. This would be important with off-roading and the potential for sliding off a rock or some other surface which could put you in a precarious position.

I'm happy with the AntiSpin in that it kept both tires moving without relying on the brakes to limit wheel-spin. It's also nice in that there was no noticeable 'bump' like I've had in the past.

Awesome, thanks for that.

Do you or anybody know if prior gen Rams only had open diffs?

I keep reading that, among other things, open diffs are better for fuel economy compared to a limited-slip diff.

Wondering if these diffs are new to Ram and maybe impacting the fuel economy reports we see.

Anti spin has been in Ram trucks forever.

The eLocker is new.

Neither should have any impact on mileage

There's some new tech with the rear diffs without regard to the locker. Pretty slick that there's a coolant loop to help warm up the diff when it's cold and also keep it cool in extreme conditions. There's supposed to be an economy improvement keeping the diff lube warmed up.

Only on the max tow axle, right? I bet @devildodge can confirm without checking ;)

Only 'certain 4x2 configurations'. I still think it's pretty cool that they're thinking about this stuff. Transmission heat exchanger is pretty cool too.

I just read the Anti-Spin is a clutched diff. So it's basically a Getrag LSD like used in the Challenger... ?
