My 2022 has been having issues with my passenger side rear tail lights. For a few days I would get a dashboard that the passenger tail light was out. It would come on and off a few times within 5 mins then go away for a couple of days. Now a couple weeks later I was told that my tail light is out. Turn signal and brake work fine. This is an LED assembly. These are supposed to last the life of the truck, what could be going on here? Any ideas of things to test? I don’t want to spend $600 for a new assembly.

This morning I pulled out the tail assembly and noticed that it was filled with a significant amount of water. WTF! Not what I expected out of a 3 yr old truck.

@RamCares if seen other point out the same thing, any idea if a recall or TSB was made for this issue? Again this is another safety issue and it’s not as simple as changing a bulb.

Update and a warning if anyone else runs I to this similar issue. When I saw there was water in the tail light assembly I tried to flip the assembly in all directions to empty the water out, but I didn’t realize I was going to make it worse. A couple hours after, I was on the highway and I got a warning on my dash about blind spot needing servicing and then a bed outlet activation notice and then a bunch of other alerts. The radio freaked out, my front windows wouldn’t work, the ac went off and the defrosters kicked on. This was a bad combo in July while stuck on the highway.

I pulled over and tried restarting the car, no luck. I found a gas station and tried to reseat the tail light assembly. When I unplugged it, water was dripping from the plug, I assumed this happened when I turned it upside down earlier.

I dried the plug and socket and reattached and it’s been working better.

I’ve purchased those caps to plug the square bed box holes on the top above the lights. Water gets in there when they’re uncovered and the tail light harness is exposed.

I didn’t like the harness being exposed to the elements so I bought these for peace of mind. I have a 2022 rebel gt. No issues

I have a tonneau cover that covers those holes. It’s odd how water can get in

You could remove the taillight and throw it in your kitchen oven on low temp for a few hours to try and dry it out. Then hit the seams with RTV to the and seal. No TSB, no recall, just replace the taillight if you are concerned the baking and sealing won't work. Is it a safety issue, sure, but not common enough to require a recall. And a TSB is just going to alert techs at dealer to possible troubleshooting options and repair. Once you are out of warranty, you will still have to pay for any work related to a TSB.
