My problem seems to be different from the ones I am reading about because I don't have a sunroof. I bought my truck in February from a dealer out of state. It was a certified used model will 9800 miles on it. I had it for two months, during which time, it did nothing but rain for days on end. Truck DID NOT leak at any point during that two months. On April 18th, we had potential for tornado producing weather and lots of rain (again). Got in the truck and found that there had been a leak overnight, staining the headliner at the rear starting on the passenger's side and going all the way across to the driver's side. Local dealer replaced the third brake light gasket on 05/01. We had a major rain storm on 05/03 and it leaked again. It leaked again on 05/08, 05/09 and 05/11. Photo shows the stains on the headliner from the different times it leaked. There is no moisture in the floor.

Dealer had scheduled service appointment on 05/13 to check the truck out again and they can't seem to replicate the issue. Going on two days without my truck and an issue that seems to have no rhyme or reason.

Awe man that’s a big leak... Someone had there rear window not sealed properly causing a leak, maybe that’s what you have. I had a leak I just noticed but they water tested and said mine is coming from my third brake light screw holes.

Just noticed yesterday my 2019 RAM 1500 has the same stain, all the way across the headliner. I am beginning to regret buying another RAM or Dodge vehicle. In the past year I have been in service way too many times for a brand new vehicle, now I have to go again. Rear camera replaced, driver door handle replaced, sensor went bad, 3 or 4 recalls, And audio system failed to sync a couple times. I love the truck, but not worth the hassle.

i had a similar leak. First they replaced the 3rd brake light gasket. It leaked again so i took it back. This time they they put silicone around the 3rd brake light gasket. Fingers crossed. Good luck on yours!

Hi @A1rguide - I deeply regret to hear of the frustration that has been associated with your ownership experience. If it would be of interest, I would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist who can provide both you and your dealer with an additional layer of support in addressing this.

Hi @natron! - Please be sure to keep us updated as you monitor this. If you experience any further trouble, I would like to escalate a case on your behalf as well.

I just noticed the exact same stains on my headliner yesterday! My mind is made up for sure now; never buy a Ram product again.

Did they replace your headliner? They replaced the 3rd brake light on mine, but the water damage now is worse than before.
From my previous Ram service experiences, it won't be fix correctly either. Ram ceiling leak2.jpg Ram ceiling leaks1.jpg

Just noticed mine is leaking on the passenger side. Gonna call the dealer tomorrow. Hoping it's just the brake light. For those that had the headliner replaced, do they have to remove the window to get it out? IMG_20200508_181435.jpg

Yep, I'm torn between a Nissan Titan or Toyota Tundra. I had a Titan and it was solid. Had a 2016 F-150 with 2.7 ecoboost and it smoked bad at start up. It also had wind noise and severe dash creaking. Horrible quality. So I got a 2016 Expedition--horrible. Headliner creaking over my head, HVAC door actuator failures, 3rd brake light shorted/melted, window leaks, sunroof issues and the same dash creaks as my F-150. The interior plastics were awful. The first time we plugged something into the 110V outlet, it broke. I'm cursed with lemons, so I thought I'd give Ram a shot.....haha.
Tundra is nice and reliable but old. Titan is newer but not as reliable. However the Titan has been updated with modern features.

I had my headliner changed and I had less staining than that.
It seems nothing is like new again after they start tearing into things. Have you noticed any defects after they replaced your headliner? Noises, speaker issues, lights? I will be asking them to replace if stains don't come out.
Thanks,

get some Flex Seal spray...mask off around the third brake lite, leaving the gap between the lite and the body, and spray it. Stuff should keep any more water from getting in there.

Yes it calls for the removal of the front windshield or rear window to change it. But I think someone said they have had their headliner out without removing a window through one of the front doors.

Thanks,
I’ve had no issues at all and it has been about 9 months at least
