I lost a key fob. Is it true if I activate 3 the one I lost will deactivate? I’m buying two from Amazon and the dealership will active them and reactivate the one I still have , an original

No I don't think the lost one will deactivate. I have 4 activated key fobs. 2 original and 2 I got when I had to replace the RF hub. Warranty paid for the 2 new ones because they werent sure they could reprogram the originals to the new RF hub but it turned out they could so I ended up with 4. I don't know if there is a limit to how many can be programmed to your truck but I can tell you that it is at least 4 without any being automatically dropped.

It all depends what steps they take to program the new fobs.
You can have a total of 8 fobs programmed to the truck.
If you hand them two brand new fobs, and just tell them to program them to your truck, that’s exactly what they’ll do, and you’ll have a total of 4 programmed fobs for the truck. The lost fob will still work if it’s found.

Now, if you have a lost/stolen fob, and you don’t want it to work on your truck anymore if it’s found, AND you want to have two new fobs programmed to the truck, they have to perform extra programming steps.
First they need to perform the “erase all fobs” procedure. This will clear all programmed fobs from the truck so none of them will work anymore.
Then they’ll take the original fob that you do have and program it back to the truck, followed by programming the two additional new fobs- leaving you with a total of three fobs programmed to the truck.

You can do all of this by yourself using JScan, BTW.

Thank you very much What is jScan? Do I need specific tools?

JScan is an app that can make changes to the truck's Body Control Module (BCM) and is now also capable of programming Key FOBs.

You would need to invest in some "tools" like an OBDII reader (vLinker MC+ recommended), a security gateway bypass cable, and the JScan app.

What year is your truck?

I use JScan on my wrangler, can I use it with blue tooth on my 2022 rebel?

Yes, JScan is VIN licensed so you'll need to purchase a VIN license for the Rebel.

Unlike AlfaOBD which is a Google Play license for any of your Android devices...

Currently, JScan is the only one of the two that can retrieve the PIN needed to program FOB's.
