For all you guys looking to upgrade the bass in your trucks, JL Audio just rolled out a Stealthbox for 5th Gen Ram 1500s. We can probably ignore that they still refer to the 1500 as a Dodge.

That ought to be cheap. It’ll probably be very good quality and have great sound but I’ve always found the stealthbox series to be very pricey.

That price is crazy on it. Fox Acoustics is what quite a few of us are running. One of best pre-fab boxes I ever had.

Oopss...… Sales are going to be dropping at MTI !!!
The JL stealthbox might not look as pretty as the one from MTI, but the engineering at JL Audio...….. it is as serious as it gets.
I'm looking forward to see their first review(s)
I'd be interested in the reviews as well. I'm curious why the JL box for trucks with reclining seat is only available with 10" max?
I have the reclining seats and 13.5" subs. Also I prefer the upward firing sub orientation as opposed to down firing.

That box is amazing. Is it custom or are they selling these? I have a limited I'd love a black one with limited. I dont even have subs anymore and havnt had them in years but this box makes me want them.

Pretty sweet. At least it includes the subwoofers for that price although it should also include the amp. Dang thats a lot of money for a couple subs. I remember back in the day I bought 2 - 12" rockford subs in a box off my friend for $80 and added a 1000 watt amp for ~$280. Dang that thing still hits hard today in my Road Runner.

You owe it to yourself to check out their Instagram. Mobile Toys Inc in College Station, Texas. It's full of their high quality custom boxes. They ship world wide!

Adding a subwoofer with an amp (MTI or JL Audio) it is the first step that one can do to improve / increase the lower audio frequencies in our vehicles.
Without any intend of disappointing any of you in here: without the proper tuning of the source signal in relationship of the rest of the audio components (all the other speakers in the cab): you will never get anywhere near to experience the full potential of what those units can do.

You can't tune the source signal without either a summing device or converter like the LC2. Sorry, but no on here is going to do that unless they're going full blown audiophile which is impossible coming from speaker level. Being able to just slightly adjust the frequencies already adjusted by the uConnect isn't worth it. I ran Focal speakers and JL amps in my Grand Cherokee with JLs 10" 10w3v3 stealthbox and it was as close as you could get to perfect in this kind of setup.

Swap the speakers, add a JL 500/1 and stealthbox and be done with it.

How involved is installing that? How does it connect to the UConnect 8.4 head unit?

I just went with the JL AUDIO wt3 powereedge box. Was really impressed with the sound when shown in another car and how it fits perfectly under the rear ram passseneger seat and is flush with the top of the seat. Also doesn’t interfere with ram box. Getting a new JL amp 900 watt 5 channel. Already out in 3 Infiniti reference speakers in the front and just got some kappa infinity 6x9 for the front.
