Hi
New to the group. I have been going through here and didnot seem to find anyone with a similar issue.
My instrument cluster shut off,/ quite illuminating in my 2109. truck is a year old. The digital screen in the center went blank. The dials were still working however.
I could still engage cruise control for example but couldn't see what what going on and such.
I though maybe I had blown a fuse. So I went online to look and did not see much, but found I did have 2 recalls i did not know about.
I made an appointment and took it in. I did find that there was a recall for apparently one 1500 that had a similar issue.
They said the cluster needed to be replaced and the mileage reprogrammed, understand able. I juts think that maybe it shouldn't be to overly complicated to do for the dealership
to reinstall it and program the mileage, but its taking a while.

Anyone else experience this? Am I mistaken and it really is a complicated process to re program the mileage?
I'm a metal smith by trade so I'm not really educated on the computer parts of the vehicles

Wow, sorry man .. That sucks. Although I haven't had a complete failure, I've noticed once in a while when I start my Ram (2019) the central screen changes. I'll have it on gas mileage screen when I turn it off, then when I start it back up it'll be on the MPH indicator, or vehicle info...kind of strange because I can set it back to where it was without any issue...

I am headed to the dealer this morning to get the cluster installed, took 30 days to get the part. Service tech said it normaly takes 5-7 days.

My issue is a little different, but still concerns the instrument cluster. My problem is that the digital and analog speed indicated is 10% out, not bad around town, but could be costly on the highway. Which is correct? So what the dealer determined is that the cluster needs to be replaced but they didn't ask to keep the truck. Lets see how long it takes to get the part, ordered on June 06 The dealer said that there is another truck with the same issue. How many others?
@Powereng - Please do not hesitate to follow up with us via PM if your dealer experiences a delay in receiving the part!

I am glad to read that you guys were able to get your trucks fixed. I had gotten mine back from the dealer last month when they told me they could not even get an ETA on the cluster supposedly because the factory producing them had been shut down due to COVID-19 and we decided to try again at a later time. I really want to get this fixed but I have been reluctant to bring my truck back in and start the process again just to have it sit forever. I may call the dealer this week to see if they can even find out if any clusters are available once they order another one.

Wish me luck members! I have patiently waited 3 months since picking up my truck from the dealer for the factories and / or warehouses to somewhat get back on track. I am now leaving my truck at the dealership on Monday so that they can pull the current mileage and hour information and order the replacement instrument cluster. They are giving me a loaner, so hopefully FCA will have a little more incentive to speed along the process. I will keep you updated on the progress.

I was told on April 7th that the new cluster had to be reprogrammed to match the old one and that the clusters were being mailed to a company that does it.
May have missed info but was this diagnosed by the dealership techs? I had my instrument cluster "blink" off then on while on the freeway. I had the dealership diagnose but no error codes, then later had a battery drain down to 8 volts.
