If Andriod Auto hasn't been working, here's why

So I was quick to assume that there was yet another issue with my 12 inch Uconnect. I deleted my phone preferences and uninstalled AA. I still had issues of not being able to use Google Play Music and the Voice recognition features. It appears the recent AA update is to blame. It is also an issue with Spotify.

Can you replicate the issue while running AA on your phone? Have you tried another music player?

I haven't had any issues although I currently use Pulsar.

Does Pulsar come up on the truck's screen, or do you have to navigate it with your phone?

It comes up on screen if plugged in using AA. Via Bluetooth, you control it using the media / Bluetooth option on the radio.

I just tried it and it didn't come up on mine through AA...I still have to navigate with my phone. Where should it show up at? Under the list of different music apps to select (Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, etc)? This is extremely frustrating, being that I simply plugged in my iPod on my 2014 and had perfect access.

This might sound like a stupid question but have you installed Pulsar on your phone?

At this point nothing is a stupid question lol. Yes I downloaded it on my phone and it automatically grabbed my songs on my SD card...I have no issue using it on my actual phone but when I start my truck and plug in my phone, Android Auto comes up but doesn't recognize Pulsar.

Hmm. Try Android auto on just your phone. See if it gives you a choice of music players where it shows pulsar. You may need to set it default?

Yeah I tried that too...the only app that shows up that I downloaded was YouTube music. I tried Jet, Pulsar, etc...ones that I selected through the AA app. Very strange.

Yes that is. Are all of your apps updated? Including your OS? Not to make you run a marathon but there is a reason....just figuring that out is a PITA. Could also be a permissions issue......hard to figure that out with Android Phones as you can get really involved with how tight you want to lock down an app.

I just downloaded the apps today, and even re-downloaded AA. I also checked for a phone update and I'm running the latest version for my S10. As far as permissions, I've granted all of these apps permission to do whatever they wanted to do, include spy on me. I'm at a loss.

Lol, spy... You couldn't be more correct. I have the same phone as you as well. You watch, one day down the road, you'll plug in and it will magically work. These Uconnect systems seem to have a mind of their own at times.

I might take it in and have the dealer install an update to my Uconnect system, if one is available. This appears to be my last resort. Also going to try another Flash Drive, which would be the entire answer to all of my problems since I don't really like AA anyway.

Every few weeks my phone will completely disconnect from my vehicle. AA will not start up no matter what. Rebooting the phone and restarting the truck do not fix this. The only solution I have found is to restore the Uconnect settings to factory. The AA will fire up again. Has anyone else had this issue?
