I think part of the problem is that the hack is easy and cheap. Most folks suspect the blend door is not sealing, which is way too big of an undertaking for most to correctly replace at home anyway. While I would pay up just to know what the issue is, I know there is a 99% chance I would not take on whatever the resulting fix is found to be.Yeah, lots of people think things are a good idea right up to the point where it's time to pay for it
