How To Use AlfaOBD On 2025+

I already have the rear LED tail lights installed, but they’re currently using the RetroShop harness. Could you share the headlight part numbers you have? From what I understand, there’s only one set?

We’ll need a harness too? I’ve heard the connectors are different.

Need custom wiring also, for both headlights and tail lights (retro shop harness won’t allow the animation to work).

Gotcha. Looks like I’ll have to wait a little longer for the harnesses to become available.

Curious, would the OBDLink LX work to at least download the proxy configuration so I can send it too you for my Bighorn? I can certainly test my otofix d1 lite to test if it can keep the SGW open with a 1 month autoauth subscription.

If you do end up getting set up to perform the proxi alignment yourself, these are the steps in witech:
close witech, disconnect the device from the OBD port, turn truck off, open then close door, and let the truck sleep for 15 minutes.

I am ready to buy a TOPDON X3 or X7 to try this out with but currently on the TOPDON forums as early as yesterday people are complaining of having the active 3 day WITECH sub and it disconnecting with an internal error. Did you experience this using TOPDON? It seems the issue is on Witech's end not supporting TOPDON J2534 currently since about December.

A cheaper alternative is the wired X3 which is WItech 2.0 supported and it says it supports AlfaOBD. I am thinking to use the A30M with Auto Auth to keep the SGW unlocked and only the Topdon X3 to do the alfaobd configuration changes and then proxi align with a 3 day witech pass and the X3. However it seems they havent fixed whatever is not allowing TODON tools to work with Witech that just started a month ago. Any suggestions?

You should be able to READ anything without AutoAuth, its only needed to allow any writing. Try it. i know for my Xtool scanner even with autoauth I can read all data from all modules, I just cant perform any functions like clear codes etc.

I can certainly read the modules with my otofix, but it is my understanding to download the proxy configuration with alphaobd I would need to unlock the SGW (autoauth). Am I incorrect in this understanding?

Nope, you don’t need anything special, and no unlock necessary for reading things and creating backup files. Your LX will work (realistically, ANY reader that is compatible with alfaobd should work).

Will this ever work for a Powerwagon?
Same question for a 2025 2500 BH ?
I have AutoAuth and Launch X431 Pro 5 with J2534 , will try to see if it can unlock the SGW for AlphaOBD
I would think so. See if you can connect to the body computer as a grand Cherokee WL. If so, everything should be the same.
