Here are the instructions for installing the digital rearview mirror in the RAM.

Part List:
Mirror with 1 Video Input Channel, no FCW or ACC - 68448639AB

Mirror with 1 Video Input Channel, with FCW or ACC - 68448641AB

Mirror with 2 Video Input Channel, no FCW or ACC - 68519111AA

Mirror with 2 Video Input Channel, with FCW or ACC - 68519222AA

Center high mounted stop lamp with camera - 68551077AB

10' Fakra Z - Female to Female
Amazon.com[/TD]

Parts if you have a 2019/2020:
2021+ BCM - 68496414AD
Wiring Harness from Jimmy07

You only need one of the mirrors. Just choose the one that fits your vehicle and if you want to have 2 inputs or not. You only need the 2 inputs if you plan on adding another camera like cargo, trailer, etc. For the 2019/2020 you will need a 2021+ BCM and the wiring harness from Jimmy07. You can get a used one from a junkyard. You can then stash this under the driver's side dash or the front seats.

Installation is fairly simple. Replace the CHMSL with the new one. Run the cable in the headliner from it to the mirror. Replace the mirror with the new one. Connect the mirror, truck and BCM using the wiring harness. Start the truck and enjoy your new mirror.

2019/2020s will lose auto dimming side mirrors. You can swap your BCM for a later new one (not used), but you would need the dealer to restore your configuration. If you swap it yourself, you'd need to do it at the dealer because it won't work right until the restore is done.

For 2021+, use AlfaOBD to set the following settings for auto dim mirrors to work.

LIN & Misc: CRVMM Present to NO

CBC Config I/O Usage: RVDM Present to YES

From Jimmy07:

For the 2500/3500 Rams, the install is the same, and 2019-2020 need to use any 2021+ bcm (as long as it’s not from a 4th gen 1500 classic).

Same mirrors as in the list for the 1500’s. The CHMSL with rear view mirror camera part numbers are as follows:
  • 68465996AA- for trucks with no surround view cameras, and no cargo camera
  • 68465999AA- for trucks with no surround view cameras, but with a cargo camera
  • 68465998AA- for trucks equipped with surround view cameras
Those CHMSL part numbers are specifically for the digital mirror part numbers posted in this thread. They cannot be used with 2023+ 2500/3500 digital mirror part numbers (installing 2023+ drvm 3.0 parts is more involved and not suited for the thread on this forum).

These will all work through 2024 HD Rams, but when used in 2023-2024 HD Rams, there will be a message in the cluster on each startup that says rear view mirror unavailable, but everything works fine, and the message goes away after a few seconds.

Reserved for future.

So not replacing the current bcm (for a 2019)? adding a 2nd bcm under the seat?

You can try replacing it, but you have to have the dealer do it because they have to do a procedure that assisns your VIN to it. I had no luck with that working so I cannot verify it would work. That's why it isn't part of the guide. If someone does it and it works, I'll add that as an option. But it needs to be verified working.

so you have a 2nd bcm stashed with a harness from Jimmy07? did you have to do special configuring on the 2021 bcm?

No, that's why there is nothing in the how to about programming with AlfaODB.

Just to make sure. If my truck has FCW then I should get mirror with that feature, right?
and is it 10' enough length of fakra cable if I have sunroof?

Yes on both. I have the sunroof. Even without it, 6 foot is just a little too small. 8 foot would be perfect.

68448641AB, 68444540AB + 10ft wire is all I need if I have the 2021 model with forward collision warning correct? I also read that you loses the dimming option of the passenger side mirror is that true ?

Yes, that's all you need. I don't know about auto-dimming on 2021+. I do know you lose it on 2019/2020.

Is there any issue with the LED brake light replacing the incandescent light? Like hyperflash? Are transistors going to be needed or service lights coming on?

No issues. I had the normal incandescent lights.

Was wondering if the rearview mirror from a 3500 fits the 1500? I believe if I'm not mistaken it has the same part #. Dumb question I know. I just need confirmation before I splash $600 on a rearview mirror 🤣

If it's the same as any numbers listed earlier in this thread, it'll fit.
