I was particular in what I wanted, and kept extending my search farther away. I looked about 400 miles out and found my truck but noticed it was at a dealership with the same name as a local Kia location. I was able to have it transferred for free and bought it two days later. So long story short, 18 minutes away.
Flew to Lake Charles LA to pick up my '22 Limited, and drove 1,500 miles home to Las Vegas. Definitely a long drive and next time will pay for shipping, just to have less stone chip damage and miles on the vehicle when I got it home. But Mark Dodge were absolutely awesome to deal with and would buy from them again.
Purchased used in the Chicago area. Flew out from Phoenix and drove it home. Only negative to that experience was the lies, lies and more lies told to me before flying out to buy it. Too long of a story but thankfully I'm in the industry and was able to mitigate some of the headache by calling out their BS. Should have just got an uber back to the airport and taken my losses in the form of an extra plane ticket home. But I was too emotionally invested at that point...and they knew it. Live and learn.
About 2,800 miles. Bud Clary in Seattle to North Carolina.
Had a plan to spend about 2 weeks driving, hitting a bunch of national parks and trails...but the wife demanded that she accompany me. With her came her work schedule. So, 5 (easy) days, hitting tourist spots at lunch and early evening.
Second one was Lake Charles to Charlotte, about 900 miles. (Son's truck: he let me drive for 45 minutes. ) Did it in one long leg. With a stop along Bourbon Street, N.O., for him to see it and have some gator tail.
Drove 1800 miles from San Diego, CA to Sullivan, MO to pickup my 3500. Deal was pretty similar to a Mark dodge deal but I this one was already built and optioned 95% to how I wanted it built.
From Sullivan I drove to Douglas, GA and picked up the new trucks travel mate a 36 ft enclosed cargo trailer. From there I stopped in Nashville, TN for a night then continued back to San Diego.
I live in Miami and had to drive approximately 40 miles north of Miami to buy my vehicle. There were closer Ram dealerships but this particular dealer had an inventory of 2024 new Rams that the dealer was aggressively trying to get sold so the price point made the drive worth it.
I was overseas searching online and only found seven in Florida that were optioned the way we wanted without a sunroof. Of those, there was only one left by the time I returned stateside and it was also one of two that was the color we really wanted. Flew in at night and headed to the dealer lot early the next morning.
