HEMI® Is Back—And It’s Cheaper Than Before On The Ram 1500

Ram’s 5.7L HEMI® V8 Returns In 2026 With A Lower Price and More Bark

Ever since Ram announced the return of the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 for the 2026 Ram 1500 lineup, we’ve been seeing a lot of people online claiming it’s “too expensive” of an option. Scroll through any truck forum, comment section, or social media post and you’ll find folks saying the $1,200 upcharge over the HURRICANE S/O I6 engine just isn’t worth it. But here’s the thing—most people aren’t looking at the full picture.

Also the Hurricane is a nightmare to work on and not easy to get access to.

Ram owners are now experiencing what F150 owners went through 15 years ago lol. Naturally aspirated v8 versus a 6 cylinder twin turbo. It's a tired argument. Get which ever engine you feel more comfortable with and move on. I'm just glad we have a v8 option again. More engine options is a good thing.
