Started out by calling U-connect to see why the last few months my the app would not work. Lady asked my to make an SOS call to see if they could see my location so I did. This lead to the truck calling the number back everytime it was disconnected. Was on the phone with U-connect so they suggested to disconnect the battery. When I did this it seems to have disabled the truck. When I get in it acts normal but, when I go to push button and brake nothing happens. Lights etc come on but, that's it. Also now I can't lock or unlock the doors from my remote key. Any suggestions as of course this happens on sunday when the dealer is not open

Thanks tried that but, didn't work. The radio is asking for the Anti-Theft code but, SOS and U-connect say I will have to talk to my dealer

Also I know I may get flamed about this, but when these trucks act up TAKE them to the dealership. We can’t get resolve if they are not reported. I’ve seen several postings saying “ disconnect “ the battery. This is not a cure all for trucks that primarily are run via electronics. Long gone are the days when you could repair these trucks with a 6 pack and a Chiltons book. It’s easy for someone on the other side to suggest things, but what do they do when something goes wrong because of “ their “ suggestion ?

I’m not trying to be a jerk, just don’t like when folks are given information that then causes them duress.

Understood and if it wouldn't have been a Sunday I would have just drove directly to the dealer but, figured battery was going to kill it before morning as the call wouldn't start calling.

Biggest thing I would like to know is if the Anti-Theft code will fix the issue of the truck not doing anything at all as if not I need to start making arrangements to get to work as I can be late and call the dealer in the AM and hopefully get the code but, it seems strange as I my Key fobs will not do anything now. Also when I don't have the key fob in the vehicle it acts the same

I generally agree... however a code reader and service manual has gotten me back on the road a few times over the years with no dealer visit.

There's a plug that connects into the eyelet for the ground side of the battery, did that get unplugged somehow while you were disconnecting the battery?

I agree with porboy. To get resolve ram tech/Corp needs to look at it. I’m not seeing anything for theft code in manual for radio. Is the little red dot flashing in cluster? Say fob not detected?
Regardless, I would contact dealer get it towed and a loaner.

No on the ground side plug it is good or at least looks to be in good

Yes the red dot is flashing. Yea I am going to call the dealer in the AM is I was trying to mess with it again this afternoon and locked my doors from the inside as I didn't want to leave the truck unlocked over night so shut the door and used the manual key to get inside and then the alarm started going off and will not stop so battery is back disconnected

^^^. I am really sorry that you are going through all of this. It’s definitely not the way we would like to see Ram owners going through. Please when they find out the situation post it on here. Again we are first on the line with these and the more they know about our problems, the faster and more efficient the solutions. :)

Ouch, sorry man. You happen to try your other fob? And how long was your normal fob in cab ? I’ve had some weird things happen with spectrum of manufacturers with push to start.

Curious not looking for a fix atm. As Porboy said keep us posted please.

I've disconnected my battery numerous times. After each time, the start button fails to start the truck on first attempt but cycling through off/accessory/run once clears it. The radio boots up to the security screen and one more off/on cycle clears the security code screen. (don't forget to open the door while off to kill the delayed accessory power). The radio is "married" to the trucks vin# which it reads through the CAN bus network. A replacement radio needs a code but not the one that was installed from the factory.

It's possible something else went wrong but that's how mine has worked each time I disconnect my battery. Others have confirmed this.

Hope it gets resolved quickly for you and treated well. Keep us in loop

Will do just came home now to meet the tow truck as the dealer I purchased from wasn't any help.

Sounds like the dealer that nobody needs. Very attentive until your check clears, then doesn't want to deal with you. I'd find another dealer that has a grasp of the customer service concept.
