Harmon Kardon 19 speaker system sound quality

What harness did you guys use to bypass the ANC of a 19 Harman kardon system? I’ve been all over and haven’t had a solid answer for the 19 HK system . I know how to unpin it but would prefer a easy harness.

This is the closest answer I can find for what is needed but I wasn’t 100 percent.

I was disappointed with the HK in my 21 Limited. Really got bad after I put my Borla Atak exhaust on. Some days I couldn't hear my exhaust and see days I would hear a loud pop that sounded like plastic breaking. I ordered an active noise control bypass and I can hear my exhaust better and the HK sounds a lot better.
I have 21 limited as well what does the noise cancel do??and y bypass it???please explain ..I’ve had truck for 5 days ..I’m brand new to it

The noise cancelling works well for me in my 2022 Laramie with HK especially when towing and using 7+ as max gear. The interior is very quiet with no sound playing. I play most favorite music through usb jump drive Wav formatted. Sounds Great to me. That’s why I purchased the stereo upgrade, but had to take the Nav to get it.

Wait a tick... the HK system in Laramies have active noise cancelling?!? Wow.

I'm going to look at a 21' Laramie tomorrow (with intention on buying it as of now)... over a 2020 Laramie, without the HK system and with half as many miles.

I'll post my main question in a new thread... but will also, in case anyone sees it. So, in your own opinions, is the HK system "worth it" to have, or is the Alpine 9 speaker system decent enough. I've test driven a Laramie with that and I thought it sounded pretty good. I'm excited to hear the HK system.

Please share any/all thoughts if and when you can. Thanks!

I answered in your other thread. It's amazing.

Net audio has the harness your looking for.

I'm really happy with the 19 speaker HK system so far, but I have noticed that it really depends on the quality of the input signal. Anything off of the sirius xm signal is terrible. High quality downloaded music from my iphone is much much better.

While the HK may not be pure audio nirvana, it is leaps and bounds better than alot out there. I am quite pleased overall with it.
If you do not like it, listen to an 8 speaker Alpine equipped equivalent.
That being said, if Ram added a simple DSP/EQ to their connect setup, it would make the world of difference.

I love my Harman Kardon system . I’ve owned it in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee summit and my 2020 Ram Rebel . I thinks it’s absolutely awesome . Blows away the Alpine system with much more power . Van Halen sounds incredible !

I know this was an old thread that resurfaced but I've been really happy with mine as well.

I have a 19' Limited with the HK system and I am a audiophile of sorts. I was literally amazed to find out that these 12 inch infotainment screens natively play 24bit 192khz flac files! Hi-Res, woo-hoo! That makes a huge difference in what you hear. Trash in - trash-out. While I haven't spent an inordinate amount of money on my updated system, it would most likely be alot to others. This is this system I have in the truck I bought this past fall: The front tweets are mounted to plates centered into the openings in the upper doors for better dispersion (if you've seen how they come stock) The dash speakers are crossed over to act as midranges, and the ones in the rear headliner are crossed over as tweets. The 6x9's in the front doors are mid-bass, and the ones in the rear doors are regular coax's for a fuller sound. The middle speaker in the dash has been turned off.

Frankly.. I have zero issues with my 23 Limited HK system.
I stream 99% of my music via Apple Music lossless. All different types. I’m sure, 100% there are better out..but I have zero issues or complaints with mine.

The most disappointing aspect of my 2022 Ram Limited is the Harmon Kardon sound system. I honestly got better sound in my 1976 Oldsmobile stock radio system. Seriously. Front loaded, no separation, cannot get sound spread around truck, even songs where the drums should travel around the speakers sounds all front loaded coming right in front of me rather than in surround. Sounds muddy and cheap. The rear upper speakers have no clarity or oomph. The real lower door speakers are muted, muddy, no clarity. No amount of adjusting of speaker location or surround settings in my audio set up fixes it.
Dealer just says it sounds great and that is the way it was designed and I should just turn the treble all the way up and the bass all the way down... What the..........
I had a Harmon Kardon sound system in the Hyundai Palisade I traded for the truck and it sounded awesome with none of the issues above.

Anyone else dissatisfied with the Harmon Kardon 19 speaker system and anyone found a way to improve it?
I've been pretty happy with my 2019 Limited with the HK system. It can definitely be a bit bass heavy, but it's a much better sounding system than the Bose system I had in my 2017 GMC Sierra Denali and the "premium" Boston Acoustics system in my Camaro. I don't expect audiophile quality from any factory sound system so maybe that's why I'm happy with it.

My 2019 Laramie with the HK was very bass heavy. My 2024 Laramie is way more balanced and not so bass heavy. Not sure why, but I am very satisfied. My 2014 with the Alpine, was not as good as my current truck. None of them compare to the Wifes Volvo with the Bowers And Wilkins.

the 2025 HK 19 sp system is too center dash speaker heavy. hard to find a balance with the rest of the truck in my opinion its either to loud or when you fade to the rear you lose voice quality. Im not fond of it. honestly the bose system in my 2021 Silverado was much better all around.
