TSB 05 002-19 is for the 2019 & 2020 model year. My 2021 has the same brake issue but the dealership has to request to perform the repair. I spent an hour in the shop to find this out today. Hopefully the repair will be approved.
So you 2021 owners, make sure you check with service and have them get the repair approved first so you don't waste your time.
Now the dealership is telling me "Star hotline" wants the brakes taken apart, cleaned inspected to see if that makes a differance and proceed from there....no brackets. I'm not sure how cleaning the brakes on a 2021 with 5000 miles on it will help but we'll see.

I have the same growling noise on my 2020, will take it in for the TSB work. The other issue I have however is that the front rotors are getting extremely hot. Have a 2017, and that truck gets 3 mpg more than my 2020. Wondering if front brakes are dragging. Anyone else have this problem? Just noticed the hot rotor issue today when I used a hose to rinse off some mud. Had a large amount of steam come off both front rotors. Any idea if the work performed will address this problem as well?

I need this for my 2021. Unreal.
I can’t believe all the issues that ram has known about since early 2019 and we are having the same issues with our 2021’s this is not right. Leaking back windows/brake light, vibrations, breaks and several others issues I’m sure. My 19 had the moan kit installed in 2019. My 19 went under lemon law for unresolved vibrations. Had a 2021 built, I was hoping to avoid all these 2018 build issues from the redesign. I’ve read several stories in the last few days with 2021’s with the same issues I stated above😩

Not sure why, they are just trying to buy time and hope you go away! This has been a known issues since early 2019!

My 2019 only does it when backing down hill in damp to wet conditions, haven't been bad enough to make a trip to the dealer over it.

I’m glad you can live with it I couldn’t and for what we pay for these trucks, we shouldn’t have too either!

Yea If it gets worse I will get it taken care of, but it seems the only time my truck experiences the condition needed to make the sound is when backing out of one family members driveway which I frequent about once a week and it only happens when it is damp or wet.

My 2019 does this as well. Not a deal breaker but very annoying when backing out and my wife said, “this is what a 50k+ truck sounds like?” She’s not wrong, I don’t like it either.
I had told my dealer about the moan when I got my replacement floor mat but we couldn’t recreate it together on a drive.
Found this postsent him an email with TSB and he emailed back this morning to schedule the fix no questions asked. I get new pads out of it, which are not expensive but prolongs the need to replace in the future so why not get it.
Glad I am developing a relationship with my shop manager, makes life much easier when something is needed. I’ll report back after fix next week.
I do write a review each time he has helped me and that actually seems to go a long way in his willingness to help, or at least I think so. Reviews are huge to dealerships/service departments.

Hi @Diggit4610 & @nabatron,

We certainly understand how this could be concerning. If you decide to address this with your dealers, please be sure to let us know via private message. We are more than happy to have this documented and connect you with case specialists who can provide an extra layer of support for that process.

I would like to find a way to talk to you guys and get some common issues my 2019 1500 Laramie corrected. Growling brakes in reverse, overhead console buttons/ lights don't work, tailgate doesn't open until you push it in and pull out, 12 inch display freezes and displays Sirius loading half the damn time. This stuff is ridiculous and has made me want to just sell the truck and never deal with Ram again!

Good luck with any of it! I had issues with my 19 from day one. I fought them for almost a year to buy it back finally they did. I had a 21 built because I do like the truck and financially it made since. The 21 now has 1700 miles on it so far the only issue I know of is the break calipers are chirping when going over bumps and applying the breaks 😩 I guess it’s a common problem. Unfortunately I see most of the problems that the 19’s had are still a issue today😩 I will drive the 21 until a week before the factory warranty is out. Sell it / trade it on a new Toyota or Chevy again if I like their changes👍🏻

For what it's worth, my dealer just told me the '21 has been added to the TSB within the last week or two. Just had mine done today, hopefully the kit works, we shall see...

Got the kit installed today - have to wait until tomorrow to see if it works but no mistaking the fact they did the work! In and out in 30min.

Did this resolve your issue? Also, did the dealer charge you for this repair if your truck was still under warranty? Or did you have to pay out of pocket?

If you are under warranty this should be covered, easy install if your warranty is over.

I’ve had very minor brake noise in my 2022 on a very damp/rainy cold morning. Nothing compared to my 2020 fog horn brakes, which the anti-moan kit fixed immediately.

The repair was covered 100% under warranty and it did resolve the issue - no noise after the brackets were installed. I traded in the truck on a 21 since and that truck has never had the issue - definitely seemed the 2019's had some kinks to work out as the 1st year of the new model.

Does this cover 2022’s too? I get a terrible sound when pulling out of the driveway on cold days. Then it goes away.
