Have one by B&W. Use it with the Anderson Ultimate for my fifth wheel trailerHas anyone installed a gooseneck hitch in their 1500? Are there any pros or cons to installing one?
Do you have pics of your rig and setup?Have one by B&W. Use it with the Anderson Ultimate for my fifth wheel trailer
Actually there are more all the time using the Andersen Ultimate going through our RV park. It is for conventional fifth wheels to be towed by trucks with a gooseneck in bed ball. Check it out. There is also a Companion hitch for the in-bed ball. The reason I went this way is that when I purchased my Ram, rails were not available for the 5th Gen. trucks yet. Now that in-bed ball to rails are available I may get the rails so that I can use my conventional slider fifth wheel hitch. That way I can get the pivot point lower and the pin a little more forward. We'll see. The setup I have works well and tows nicely.Does the 1500 even have enough Rear Axle Weight Rating (capacity) for a 5th wheel/goose neck to even be worth it? Didn't think there were that many light 5th wheel/gooseneck trailers out there.
