GMC/Chevy Wheels on a new RAM?

Anybody ever try putting GM or Chevy wheels on a new Ram? Really like the Denali 22's and wonder if they would fit.

The lug pattern is the same (6x5.5) but I am not sure about the hub size

Yep, the center bore was the concern, 78.1mm for the GMC, 77.8 for the Ram, haven't found a set of hubcentric spacers the cover that tight a difference.

I'm having 22" chrome "snowflake" rims put on my 19 Limited tomorrow. We did a test with one of the rims and it seemed to fit and clear just fine. My 22" stock rims and tires were stolen last week necessitating the new wheels

Here are the snowflake rims on the Limited. My mechanic sent me the picture, so I'll post some better ones later in case anyone is interested in doing this. Tire size is 305/45/22

Assuming a properly centered wheel, most of the force is transmitted through the clamped faces of the wheel and hub, by friction. ... The hub centric lips are there to center the wheel, not to carry load.
As long as the wheel is properly centered with the hub, an oversized wheel center should be fine. If it is not, it will be quickly evident once you hit the road.

I know this thread is over a year old, but those 305/45/22's seem to make the wheels stick out a little more OR do you have wheel spacers on? The original 285/45/22 seem like they are tucked inside the fender wells because of the fender flares... I like how your wheels/tires look like they are more flush with the fender flares.. I'm looking at Chevy Honeycomb wheels for my ram and know the offset if different so I'm just now looking and researching.

I'll jump in on this, too. I came here from owning GM trucks and I like their wheel designs much better. If I do a GM wheel, is a hubcentric ring required? Some have said the bigger bore size will put too much pressure on the lugs. But I don't know much about wheels, offsets, etc.

No ring is needed. The clamp force/friction from tightened tapered lugnuts is what holds them at the face. They are "lugcentric". Many lower cost wheels have a huge bore to fit all makes and don't use rings. Rings that may be included with high end wheels are to help you hold it in place until the taper of the lugnut engages. I find the stud to wheel hole clearance does this easily.

I went down this road before with different vehicle....same bolt pattern slightly off with the hub size. It was a minor difference and I could not find the correct size hub centric rings. I went for it anyway and it was a major fail. Constant shake coming through the steering wheel so I gave up. Not saying this will happen in your situation, but it could...

You just need to do the proper sequence of lug tightening and there won’t be an issue.

Almost all aftermarket wheels don’t come with the hub centric rings. And the ones that do are plastic and are just a guide to make sure the wheel is perfectly centered.

Great news. I have some GM reps picked out I loved on my last truck and I think they would look great on my Ram.

I’ve run countless sets of aftermarket Rims on my trucks over the years without hubcentric rings And never had an issue. In fact most of them I’ve gotten through discount tire. If you are familiar with Discount tire they are very stringent on what they sell you and put on your vehicle. I guarantee if this was an issue they wouldn’t do it.

Now if you are wanting to run wheel spacers then you should absolutely go with hub-centric ones.

Will do! I'm dig up this thread when I get them. I'm going to run the OEMs through the truck's first winter for the sake of the salt. It isn't too bad in KY but I'm a clean freak.

glad I saw this thread. I am really liking a set of wheels spec'd for the newer GM trucks in 22x10 +30 offset and 6.7 backspacing. anyone know if they will fit on a stock Laramie 4x4 (non-ORP) with a 305/45 tire? Maybe a .5" wheel adapter to push it out a little but not past the fender for any clearance concerns?
