Gate Open Message Stays On

Hello all,

2021 Limited Ram 1500 with the Multi Function tailgate. I have had it for only three days and have a questions. The tailgate open warning at the dashboard stays on after closing the tailgate. I need to close it really hard for the second time for the warning to go away. Has anybody else seen this?
