My 2022 Ram laramie 1500 gets 7.5 mpg while towing my camper. The truck handles the camper fine. I'm using a good weight distribution hitch and utilize the haul/tow feature. What does everyone else average while towing? 7.5 seems pretty low to me. My camper is a 28' that weighs in around 6400 lbs.

Glad to hear that. I've got the 3.21 gears also.

22ft Passport BHS single axle, no slide out, 8ft wide. 5.7 e-torque, 3.92 gears, 4 corner air suspension. Im seeing right at 10mpg. Previous 19 big horn minue etorque and air suspension got pretty much same thing. Both mostly 55mph roads with less than 1hr on big roads with higher speed limits.

I have Forest River Micro Lite 25BRDS towing with my 2000 Ram Rebel 1500 eco diesel. Usually around 70 MPH, I am getting 12-13 MPG. I got 33 gallons fuel tank, so my range is over 350 miles.

I get around 9 pulling my 23 ft tritoon

My 2019 Ram has a 5.7 Hemi, 3.92 Rear End, and gets 8.0 - 8.5 MPG, towing our camper in Tow/Haul Mode. Our Camper is a 2017 Winnebago Minnie 2500RL weighs around 6400-6500, about 29 feet Hitch to Rear Bumper. I'm using a Curt Equalizer 10,000# Hitch. I have an Airlift Wireless One 50# Combo for my Rear Spring Lift and Stabilizer. Works good, usually have it set at 25#. If it's Windy, I boost it to 30-35# (That's the highest air pressure I've ever had to use to control sway.) When Not towing, I drop the Air Pressure down to the minimum 5#. When Not towing I get around 17 MPG, but have gotten 22 MPG if I behave (55 MPH or so). I have 106,000 miles on my truck.

Know it is a bit dated post; but thought would add ours. 23 Ram 5.7 with 3.21 pulling a Nucamp Tab 400 Teardrop (~3500 lbs loaded), trip last year to AK we averaged 12 - 14 mpg typically keeping around 65 mph.

Pulling my 26dbh which is 32’ bunker to hitch and about 7k loaded I am getting around 11-12. 3.21 gear 5.7 e torque IMG_6319.jpeg

not just weight, terrain and wind has a huge impact on towing. E-T is really not going to give you any benefit it's more of a liability imo.

From lots of towing with various vehicles over many years, not my current '22 Rebel. Slow down to 55 (note most trailer tires have this max speed). Also horror stories of rear diffs locking up when going faster for some time.

10 mpg will be typical, worst I have had is 5.5 uphill into a headwind.

i agree i have driven over 1 million miles in the past 12 years. i can't count the amount of campers/trailers of any type that i have seen with blown tires or locked up axles. anytime you go on a trip ya should do a through pre-trip. check EVERYTHING front to back, washer fluid to air..........

I'm going to also add spending a little time planning a route and getting off the Interstate. There are amazing side roads with a lot less stress and little towns with neat stores and markets and much better scenery. If out RVing, the journey can be better than the destination. It can be so much better than seeing how soon one can get to the next Bucees.

Keeping the speed around 60 I get 12+/- on reasonably flat country with 3.93's. Best was 13 in Cal on mostly level and no wind. Yawl have to remember your towing a 32+square foot sail behind you. These trucks are pretty well tuned for mpg, so ANYTHING you hook to it messes with the mpg even a 5k lb flatbed.

my '19 laramie 4x4 ccsb with hemi and 3.92 gears usually got 9-10.5. as low as 8.5 and sometimes over 11. our trailer was a 28' 6000# bumper pull. I usually towed at 68-70. mielage depends a lot on terrain and wind direction. I always used tow/haul mode.

I took out my AGS because of high temps when towing my TH i have alot of mountains to climb where i go so im gonna see if it affects my mileage now.

Best thing you can do for these trucks. Keep the heat down, MPG should at the very bottom of the list of priorities when towing.
