I have a 2025 ram rebel sso. my fuel economy is garbage I have around 1500 miles now and I'm only getting 10-13 mpg mixed with a max maybe 14 highway. towing I got 9 mpg on the highway at around 70 mph with an empty aluminum trailer weighing 1100 lbs I'm not hard on my truck this is all easy light foot driving. is this par for the coarse or could there be something wrong

I drove mine off the lot and went straight highway at 80 mph. I averaged 17.88. At 70 MPH I imagine I'll get 18+. 10-13 is atrocious. Something must be wrong.

I would think that the specific conditions matter. Wind, temperature, etc. It should do better than 15MPG unladen in favorable conditions. I have a Rebel and it got nearly 18 MPG at 80MPH. Just me in the truck with a small suitcase and backpack.

so did this ever change?

After 4,800 miles the overall hand calculated mileage is 17.7 mpg highest 18.1 mpg lowest 15.9 mpg.

That is surprising. Did you drop tire pressures from the (what I call) high factory recommendations? I am still breaking mine in and tires are still close to 55/45psi. I am averaging near 20mpg (on the dash). Mix of hwy/streets.

What axle ratio?
I have '25 Laramie with 3.92 and second tank of gas.
Will start checking the mileage by hand and see.
Hope it's better when more miles rack up.

I'm in the same boat.. 25 rebel 3.92 14-15 is all I can get... My 5.7 was way better!

Mine too. I should have known better. There is no replacement for displacement

See how it compares to the v8's and the ecoboosts:

Are all of those trucks in the test chart 4WD? Lift, tire, configuration makes a lot of difference. Tire pressure and condition can make a difference.
Keeping configuration the same would be a good test.

Almost 100% positive they're all 4wd. You can't find 2wd trucks here in Canada. He does note several times that this is the rebel and he plans to retest with a regular trim HO when he can get one, but there is no way it manages to beat the 5.0 or 5.3 even in a bighorn trim, never mind the 2.7 ecoboost which has exceptional MPG.

@ 5,450 miles as of today.
3.0 SO
3.92 Gears

By the way, my mileage (based on the same roads, driving habits, and speeds) has dropped by about 2 MPGs.
Pure city: 15 MPG - did not measure closely previously.
City/HWY: 17 MPG - used to be 17.5+
HWY (twisty roads, going up and down to Heber AZ from Chandler): 20.5 MPG - It was an avg. 23 MPG

The highest grade in AZ is 91 octane, which I use.

I'd want to know for sure. Those numbers for some of the other trucks are IMHO waaay high for a 4wd with lift and big tires. Waaay high.
I've had several 2wd 5.7's and my SO beats it by 2mpg. The Rebel is a gas user config for sure. I've had friends with ecoboost trucks and they don't get that sort of MPG.
The HO is is a much higher performer than most any other option, and it's unrealistic to even bother worrying about MPG. That engine is built for performance.

And the HO still gets 18mpg :)

Well you'd have to watch all his towing videos, they're worth it.
