Attempted 12in screen Swap on my 2019 RAM 1500 8.4 w/NAV. Like a Dumby a repinned a harness without disconnecting the battery.

Now ....
1. wipers stay on while running
2. turn signals don't work
3.streering wheel controls dead
4. hvac controls dead ( hazards work)
5. toggle switches dead ( trailer brake works)
6. no back up camara
7.traction control light on

any ideas?

same thing has happened when some people have had their windshields tinted and water has gone down behind the dash. Check for shorts. some of them had been fixed by drying out. Maybe removing and checking it and depowering it will help.

First check fuse F44 on the fuse box above the gas pedal (it’s a 20 amp fuse). Make sure when you repinned the connector back the way it originally was, the two canbus wires are not switched around. Then, pull the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes.

Man, it would be so cool if I had a neighbor like Jimmy!!! Then again, he may not think it’s so cool feeling the need to walk over to my garage every time he smells electrical smoke! 😉. Or he sees me walking out to my garage with my AlfaOBD laptop and knows in about ten minutes he’s going to hear me scream “What the hell did I just do?” 🤣🤣😂

I know this is an old post but I just ran into a similar situation with an 8.4" screen upgrade in my 2020.

It ended up blowing the 15amp F53 fuse under the dash.

Maybe this will help out someone in the future.
