Fox 2.5 dsc 2-3" cv angles

That's a real drag, I removed wheels and tires and used same punch and the huge Fox spanner wrench, Thought I would die trying to add a 1/2 more threads. Gotta say that spanner saved me.

Have you got one of those? Fox shipped it fast

Does Fox call for adjusting these on the truck with a spanner wrench?
 
Instructions say to remove and use a spring compressor. That makes for a rough time actually dialing in the ride height you want when you have to remove everything 10 times and adjust it.

People have managed to adjust them on the truck, but it looks like I'm not in that fortunate group.
 
I have one for that is for my Icon 2.5 setup and it fits, but bent all to heck when using it. So yours was a bear too? Icon was hard, but this one is next level tough.

I may try grabbing the fox one before tearing it all apart again. If I do rip it apart I'll grab a new spring since I took off a ton of paint on the passenger side trying to adjust it on the truck. It actually rides great, just concerning angles and amounts of lift.
I think the amount of lift is why your angles are bad
 
Bds was/is still on my list, I'm just always reluctant to cut factory mounts. My understanding is their 3" Rebel kit uses these same shocks anyway, and I've already lifted my rear with supporting mods. No idea if they'll sell me just the additional front end parts solo or not.

Figured I'd try these out and see if they fit my needs first. If I can maintain pretty decent downtravel(3.5"+)with the lift I need I may not have to go further down the hole. Then you start thinking long travel and where do I call it good? 😂
i was thinking of long travel also 🙈🙈🙈🙈
but i think for my needs and keeping decent angles the 4 inch bds shuld do it… also from what i was told is the fox shocks they have in bds are longer then the 2-3 dsc if they are not imma be fighting with them for sellling me bs
 
After a grueling day(the compressor slip had ****eyed the retaining ring. Had to find a shop with same day turn around to compress it and reset) here's where I've landed.

My preload has been affected by the springs, contrary to what I was told by Accutune. I can't think of any other reason behind this.

I adjusted my driver's side to 1" from 1.5 and my passenger side to 3/4" from 1.25". These adjustments netted me an exact linear decrease, not the 2 to 1 ration originally from fox. I started at 25" hub to fender drivers side, I'm now at 24.5". Started at 25.25 passenger side, now at 24.75". Exactly the same drop floor to fender, 1/2".

The bad news is the angles are a little high still, but slightly better. The worse news is a buggered up springs, wasted two days, and beat myself up. I measured 20 times and still didn't get the results I wanted 😂

I'm going to order a new passenger spring and preload collar and probably have a local shop tear it down this next time. I'm beat and out of time. With these presets I'll have about 1/4" of exposed threads passenger side and 1/2" drivers to be at the rake and down travel I want. Nuts!

Thanks for mentioning that, that’s what I thought also. I had Fox 2.0’s and absolutely hated taking them on and off the truck several times to get it dialed in. Then there was the several alignments I had to do because this truck will eat tires quickly. I’m glad I’m able to do that stuff myself, but I really despise doing it. There’s going to be a time where I just say f it and pay our shop guys to do it.
 
next time, spray some WD-40 on the threaded part of the shock body and let them soak through the preload adjuster. Should help with turning.
 
I coated them in both wd40 and then tried pb blaster. I did find this when I pulled them apart. It appears that( perhaps with the replacement eibach springs) they were digging into the collar while turning. I'm replacing the collars anyway the next time it's apart, still, wouldn't think it would do that. I checked the edges on the fox springs vs the eibach and they seem the same to me. No real sharp edges that I found. I guess when they're pulled apart again in full I'll get a better look.

hmm... interesting.
We use big spring compressors at the shop and that takes care of most spring rates. Some heavier spring rates (650lb or 700lb) require additional turning force but nothing that thing couldn't handle.

If you're having difficulty compressing the springs just pay someone with proper machine to do it imo
