So I have been struggling for at least a year with my truck having this issue. And it is so annoying. It would display something like "Shift to P" and go into neutral on its own but only when rounding a corner first thing in the morning. It also would surge when coming to a stop. Same thing only in the morning on first drive of the day and only within the first 5 minutes or so. Note I didn't have to shift into P to resolve the trans issue. Shifting into N then D did the trick.

Here's the solution I found. If I press the gear buttons and select 8 upon first shift into D both of the issues disappear/never happen. I know that defeats the ECO 4-cylinder mode so it seems to be related to that.

Anyone know anything more about this or can explain what's going on? I certainly don't mind doing this but it is a little bit inconvenient and makes no immediate sense.
