Forward Collision Warning

I thought my FCW doesn’t work, then I was driving very closely to another car in front who thought driving at 50 on the interstate on the left lane is no big deal, I know it’s not nice, but at times you gotta give them the taste of what they deserve. Anyway, my plan was to drive right behind him and he will finally get the message.... nada, FCW came on and slammed the heck on the brakes. I was anticipating that, but that was the first time for me experiencing it. So yah, it works. I have mine set to far. The rear one works awesome too, but first time the rear one bracket for me ... it scared the heck out of me

No way this works for me. I have the same issue with FCW as some others. New limited and everything is great other than I don't think the FCW is working. It would happily let me drive into a stopped or parked car. Took it to the dealer and they said I just need to trust that if needed it will work. Yeah Right......

Anyone with this issue get theirs working as expected via dealer help?

So I was wondering the same about my FCW not working. If you pull into a parking space with a car in front of you should it automatically apply the break not letting you hit the car in front of you? I have tried it out and the lights and sound beep but the truck never breaks. Haven't been brave enough or stupid enough to go all the way to the end and actually hit another car. So I'm asking should be forward collision center cause the truck to break when pulling up to a car or a garbage can in front of you? Or is it only active when moving at a higher rate of speed

In the manual it states FCW might not detect a fully stopped vehicle, so don’t try it . In active park mode it should brake( I haven’t tried it)

You have to have enough balls to intentionally try to Ram (get it?) someone to see if it works.

Mine has activated several times when I got close. I believe there has to be a speed difference too.

To those who turn FCW off because it goes off frequently...please back off and share the road responsibly! Your truck is trying to tell you something.

My 2019 LL 1500 FCW had never functioned from new. Did lots of tests at varying speeds with large TV boxes posing as pedestrians and the box died every time.
When it was in the dealer for the brake pedal recall I had them check and there was no codes do they called it quits on any further diagnosis. Being a Canadian vehicle they knew the problem would soon export itself to a foreign country and would not be their's to deal with.
I had it towed yesterday for the second time for a 'no start' to a dealer in Swift Current SK Canada and have asked them to investigate the non functioning FCW/AEB as well as the 'no start'

Tow truck driver in Mesa AZ told me it was the 4th 2019 he had personally towed for a 'no start'
The tow truck driver in SK told me yesterday and I quote "yes, only the new ones" referring to my comment to him about the tow driver in AZ.
FCA has a real problem on their hands. Me too for that matter.

FCW may not detect a stopped object, it’s in the manual

Now try driving about 15km /h and have someone throw the Tv. box in front of you, you may/should get different results. I personally would try something softer like a big bag full of pillows.

And that's why it may appear to not work. Mine will trigger on the bumper of a turning vehicle I am overtaking if I get too close...but will ignore fixed objects like guard rails. Of course, there may be some systems that don't work. It's just hard to test.

I have a 2016 Chrysler 200C, with what they called the Safety Tech package, and have all the features enabled for almost three years now. All of them work for me, including the forward collision warning and also had it stop the car, with both stationary objects and moving vehicles, and also rear cross path. I have also used the automated parking. The systems are not perfect, and it's still the drivers job to take over if needed and to pay attention. I was waiting for the trucks to catch up and now I have all the same features in my 2019 Laramie. The backing up braking works, the lane keep assist works, the automated parking works, and in the month and a half I've had the 1500 it has auto braked with the forward collision feature one time. For me the systems are working. I would hope because both vehicles are FCA products, the technology would be the same, but may not be. I've never had a problem with the 200C mirrors returning to the regular position after I've finished backing up, but have an intermittent problem with one or both side mirrors on the Ram. I also realize its a new model and you never buy first model year if you are expecting everything to be perfect. I read the forums before I bought the Ram so I knew I might have some first model year issues till they work all the bugs out.

I've had it into service. They claim it works fine.... But I test it and get nothing.

My money is that they checked your forward park assist, NOT your FCW. That is what happened at me dealer. They said it works fine... he went to show me and I had to point out that he was activating the FPA and NOT the FCW. He has no clue why it doesn’t work but did indeed confirm it is not working. My ACC operates as advertised, flawlessly.
i went to another dealership and they essentially blew me off.
my 6th Ram.... I am so disappointed right now!!
