So, I have a question and yes I’ve read my manual and several threads but really haven’t gotten an answer to this question so I figured I would ask you guys! My 2022 1500 Laramie came with FCW+ but in my options when I go to select I don’t have anything with PEB as a selection. I thought that if FCW+ came installed from factory it comes with PEB automatically? I’ve read some dealer websites that says it does but mine does not. I guess all in all am I supposed to already have that function or is it a completely different package all together?

Probably depends on when it was built if you'd have it or not.

If you don't have it good for you.
I had to turn the breaking off on mine because a few times on the highway it would lock up the brakes going 75 and almost caused a couple of accidents because of it.

Because of the PEB or FCW? I thought the PEB only kicked in under 37mph and minimum speed of 3mph.

And yes it was November of 2021 when it was built.
That is probably why you don't have it then. It is an option in AlfaOBD so you can try to enable it. It might be called cross path detection.

Okay I will look at it when I get my tablet in Thursday I just have JScan right now. On the sheet they made with vehicles with DASM it says to do these two.

1. Pedestrian Emergency Brake (PEB) Present : Yes
2. Pedestrian Emergency Brake CSM Present : Yes

So, I will try it when my Samsung tablet comes in Thursday. Thanks as always Vince.

I think cross-path is a sub function of the BSM when you are reversing slowly.
The PEB function uses the DASM at low speed to brake while moving forward.

I have both and there aren't any user settings to adjust.

PEB came out for 2021MY. Even though it is a sub-system of forward collision warning, it is not equipped unless adaptive cruise is also equipped, because it needs to use the abs module and HCU that adaptive cruise uses.
Once you install those, you can enable these in AlfaOBD:
VehConfig 8: Pedestrian Emergency Brake (PEB) Present
CustSetMenu 3: Pedestrian Emergency Brake CSM Present

I believe they go hand and hand. I have options for forward collision warning and also options for active braking. I have almost run over people a few times (on purpose) and it doesn't give a warning. Maybe that means so don't have it? Im still going to assume for the better. I don't need my breaks stopping me when there are turkeys crossing the road.

Ahhh gotcha that makes more sense as to why it isn’t in there well it will be soon so thanks as always Jimmy on the clarification.

My 22 came with the level 1 safety group which includes PEB, but not ACC. I added it myself.

Those two parameters were already enabled in the stock configuration.

I’m seeing that now after checking out some build sheets before you just posted. I was going off of someone who enabled it with only being equipped with FCW+, and it didn’t work for him until he swapped in the abs and HCU for adaptive cruise.

Well I see he had it with only Lake Keep Assist FCW+ so shouldn’t I be able to do it without ACC? I’m going to be putting it in just waiting for the HCU now anyways so I can try before and if it doesn’t work I’ll disable and when I put ACC in I’ll confirm weather or not you just need Lane Assist with FCW+ to get PEB or have to have ACC to get PEB.

If I were you, I'd enable it and check for any resultant faults. If there are faults, revert the settings and clear them. I don't think it'd hurt anything.

What's on your window sticker? Is PEB listed?

Yup, give it a shot any time with those two settings I posted above.
Once you change those two settings, reboot the radio twice in a row by pressing and holding the power button on the radio until the screen shuts off.
After that, the PEB setting should show up in the radio right under the two FCW settings.

I guess I never looked closely.
There are some user configs for the PEB.

It doesn’t work unless you have ACC I tried and it just threw up error codes. So I took it back off I got my tablet today so Parnell and Park Assist & Lane Assist work now. I am going to PM you my log Jimmy for the Auto-Dim situation.

Are you saying PEB doesn't work without ACC? If so, that's not true.
What is Parnell?
