Fob Locked Inside

You can absolutely lock a fob in the vehicle, but it will not automatically lock the doors without pushing a button on the fob, using proximity button on door handle manually locking doors using switch on door, or through the app. I'm guessing you, or they, are hitting the lock button when exiting the truck.
Hitting the lock button or the button on the outside will not lock the key fob in there. At least not on my truck. I've tried (not on purpose though ). It always honks at me and unlocks the doors.

  • Access the Uconnect system through the infotainment screen.
  • Navigate to Settings > Doors & Locks > Key Fob options.

My recently purchased 2022 Big Horn allows me to lock the key fob inside. My friends's 2021 will not allow the fob to be locked inside. That is what I want. How do I program the vehicle to NOT allow the key to be accidently locked inside?
it has to be a quick setting with a scan tool my 2019 will not let you lock door with the keys inside which is helpful.

I don't see any settings on the Uconnect screen that are relevant. For now I've decided to pay $10/mo for Ram Connect Plus which will at least allow me to remote unlock/lock. I've been trying to run some tests but I can't seem to lock the fob in the truck on purpose. The locking seems to occur later after we've walked away which makes it even more strange.
