Thought I'd share this in case anyone else had the same issue. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Sport. Had it since March 2019 and on a cold start, the rear brakes would always make a awful noise/moan when first applied. Would go away pretty quickly but the sound was like a train coming to a stop. Turns out there is a TSB out on this issue. The TSB number is: 05-00219. It requires a kit to be installed to fix the issue. Kit ordered and hopefully on next week.

You might look into what this "fix" includes. I personally wouldn't want it added to my truck and would explore alternatives. It's a little under-engineering in my opinion.

I had the TSB done on mine and the rear brakes still howl in reverse on a cold start. Might not be quite as bad, but it still does it. At least I got a fresh set of rear brakes after 20k miles ;)

The 5 001 19 that was done on my truck involved new caliber brackets, pads and mounting bolts. Is the 5 002 19 a later version perhaps?
edit: just answered my own question, now I wonder why they did the 001 and not the 002 on my truck?

Check out the picture in post #304 in this thread. I believe this is the "bracket." Maybe the new mounting bolts are longer to work with this bracket.

The new pads, as long as they are the updated kind, are a good step forward.

I believe one user found success with an off the shelf brake squeal reducer which adheres the pads to prevent vibration and noise.

On a clear day, I can see Seattle from my house.
I bought and installed the kit myself so it would be installed correctly, instead of by some dealership "tech" trying to beat the clock to turn a profit. Also, I do not use air tools on brakes and associated equipment, so it took a bit longer than the estimated time in the TSB.
Still all quiet during morning cold braking in either direction.
My experience and a PDF copy of the TSB is on this forum HERE.

Just went to the dealer today and had them order these parts. Hoping it fixes the noise.

The kit is on backorder I guess, so will be waiting for a bit.
