Ram Trucks has unveiled the first 2019 Ram 1500 special edition.
The Kentucky Derby Edition is the first special edition based on the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Limited. The Kentucky Derby Edition will be available in Ivory White Tri-Coat, Delmonico Red, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Max Steel or Patriot Blue and has body coloured bumpers. The Kentucky Derby Edition is available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations with a 5'7 box and has a Kentucky Derby “Run for the Roses” graphic on the rear bed sides.



Standard equipment for the Kentucky Derby Edition includes Ram’s exclusive Uconnect 12-inch touchscreen radio with Sirius XM 360L with navigation, four-corner auto-leveling air suspension, power-retracting running boards, trailer hitch with sway control and blind spot monitor with automatic trailer detection. The Kentucky Derby Edition also includes premium full-leather front and rear reclining seats with heating and cooling, genuine wood and metal trim.



This years running of the roses marks Ram Trucks 9th year as the official truck of Churchill Downs® and the Kentucky Derby.

The Kentucky Derby Edition costs $54,835 including destination and is on sale now. This is a limited edition truck with production limited to 2,000 units.

March 26, 2018 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Ram Truck brand today unveiled a limited edition of its all-new 2019 Ram 1500 to commemorate the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby®. The 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition is fittingly based on the brand’s top Limited trim, and will feature distinctive Kentucky Derby “Run for the Roses” fender graphics. The May 5 running of the roses marks the Ram Truck brand’s ninth year as the Official Truck of Churchill Downs® and the Kentucky Derby.

Looks to me like a truck can already be optioned out like this. So what is special besides the decal?

Those look like the 22"s on there too. Is there a full body color appearance package coming out? Love the new Ram, but not crazy about the chrome. I really like the front grill and bumper on the sport package, but that is only showing on Laramie and below. I'd like a Longhorn in the Granite full body color appearance package, please (color not in Longhorn choices either...).

There is still a lot of time for a bunch more special editions and new models etc as well. I'm in the same boat as you, I'd like to see a Longhorn or a Limited with a Sport option, I think it would look great.

It's a decal?

I don't mean that in a cynical way, but I genuinely don't see any other difference from a "normal" Limited trim.
