ETorque button turning off by itself

So just hey while driving eTorque is deactivating itself. I'll start the truck pull up to it to stop sign and notice it was not shutting down. Look down and the eTorgue off button was lit up. I pressed it which engaged eTorque and the engine shut down. Drove to the next stop sign and the button again was lit and eTorque disengaged and the engine would not shut down.

Does anyone know if there is a certain circumstance or criteria that would cause the truck to disengage eTorque? There was plenty of gas in it and no error messages

There happened to be talk about that in the Tazer DT group buy thread (I see you have one) and apparently if the truck is shut off w/start stop deactivated; when you drive, it will turn itself off after each time start/stop activates

Not having your seat belt on will disable the shut down as well.

If the truck is warming up or cooling down the cabin it may not shut down as it needs the engine running to operate heavy compressor usage.

Just a couple that I know of.

If you stop on an incline it will not engage, or if the engine is not warmed up.

Both true however neither will light up the 'Disabled Light' on the Start/Stop Button - in the EVIC, it's interesting to see the various messages of when Start/Stop decides not to run. For HVAC, it will say 'heating cooling enabled' but for inclines it just says 'not ready'. I do wish it would provide reasons all the time

I still thing OPs issue is related to the Tazer doing a memory setting keep

Thanks everyone. I will see if I accidentally pressed Tow Mode. This morning, all is well, so I may have just had it deactivated the last time I pressed the ignition button. Accidentally hitting it. Thanks for the help.

BTW - is anyone else have the 12" periodically flicker, no image, or run the cameras and cannot get out of it. Have had these happen the last 10 days, before that, a full month of no issues at all. It seems the 12" screen has a mind all its own, or was put out before it was debugged. I know not the thread, but was on my mind.

Chreers!

Try the method in that Tazer thread - with the truck running; set all your settings (tow mode, AutoStop) as you like, then shut the truck off - restart and all should be saved as such. Supposedly the AutoStop occuring keeps whatever setting was used last until the truck is fully turned off again

I have two issues with my truck that I've tried to work around until FCA resolves them.

The shifter going from Park to Drive without any gear engaging, trucking sitting with D illuminated but will not go into gear until engine is revved (dangerous). For this I've disabled auto engaging the parking brake and slow and steady rotation of the knob.

The 12" screen freezing, black with no response, nav displaying but location static, etc. For this I let the 12" system finish its boot cycle (flashing dots on screen) before plugging in my iPhone. Seems that sometimes during boot and plugging in the phone, iPhone's Carplay startup (lots of handshaking going on) can trash the boot process, and results are pretty random but never good.

Hi Cmerkert,

We're sorry to hear you're having a hard time with your Uconnect system. If you end up going into the dealer for an inspection, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help with that process.

I picked up my 2019 RAM 1500 LTD in June 2019, and in July had the screen black out or lock up while away on vacay. Inconvenient 1st world problem with my new today. When I got back home, took it to the dealer, they uploaded a software patch and haven't had the issue again.
