Wife's 2023 Ram 1500 with the eTorque 5.7 just broke the smaller of the two belts, specifically the stretch belt that run the water pump off the crankshaft. Less than 10k miles. Pulley looks to be straight and undamaged. Water pump spins freely. Coolant level was good. Basically no reason that the belt should have broke. Mopar part number 5281957AA. When it came off it also damaged the large serpentine belt that goes to the electric motor that sits where the alternator used to sit. Mopar part 5281514AA. According to the dealer, Lum's in Warrenton OR, there is a nationwide backorder for one or both parts. I did find them, and the are OEM, but not easy to find. It's possible there is more to this belt failure. Not sure if it's a manufacturing defect of the belt, or a design flaw, but to have a shortage of the belt isn't normal. Everyone with this engine and eTorque setup might want to inspect the belts before they reach 8k miles. If you have had this issue, then please report it at Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA such that if there is a substantial number or abnormal amount of failures, then it will be openly taken care of. Best of luck everyone! Great truck otherwise thus far?
