Dreaded Rear Window Cracked Frame

I have seen several Rams on here with this exact same problem. The frame around my rear window cracked and it is now leaking into the cab. Unfortunately, mine didn't show up until now and I have 38k miles on my truck. Am I screwed, or will Ram step up and help me fix this since this is a known problem?

I’ve got just shy of 45k miles, just purchased a week or so ago and have a cracked rear window. How do I go about getting this replaced and covered!?

you pay out of pocket because you are out of warranty. If I were you, I would go back to the dealer you just bought the truck from and ask them to pay. most trucks come with some type of warranty for 30,60 or 90 days after purchase.

Was this issue resolved in newer models?
That is the rumor but I have not seen any confirmation both from any forum site or any of the Facebook sites. I was hopeful a RAM guru on here would know 100%.

I haven't seen any failures in late '21 models, but it might just be too soon yet. So far there are no cracks in mine after a year, with a March 2021 build date.

A couple of months ago, someone stated that in 2021 Stellantis sourced a new, more flexible RTV for the rear window. He mentioned that the old RTV dried so hard that when the body twisted, it transferred too much load to the plastic frame, which caused it to crack. I'll see if I can find the post.

This is all I could find: Is there a Service Bulletin for the rear window leak?

My 21 is leaking from the right rear of the back window. Not a concern to me now as I’ve already ordered my 22 so I’ll let the next customer deal with it.

No its not resolved. They had to replace the rear window in my 2021 after a month off the dealer floor.

What's the build date for your '21?
I will check when I get home, unless there is a way to check online. I looked at the build sheet but didn't see anything. It was before June 2021 as it was PDI'd in the beginning of June 2021. I bought it is august of 2021.

Thanks. Did your rear window frame crack? I'm not exactly clear where yours is leaking (right rear of the back window?), but it sounds like it's not leaking in the "usual" spot. Most of the issues people are having is with cracked window frames, which usually leak at the cracks.

Mine isn’t cracked it’s just leaking in from the top right rear. It could very well just be the glass sealant to the body that is leaking. Only diagnosed it so I knew exactly where it was leaking and with the water running only over the corner rear it leaks in.

Yeah, I'd suspect more of an issue with the seal than with the window itself with your leak. Appreciate the pics. (y) The fact that your frame isn't cracked gives me hope that the upgraded rear window might have fixed the issues with cracking.

Curious about how Ram is managing these complaints nowadays with the star case.
I have a 2020 with 41K miles that developed the crack this winter and never really noticed anything wet. Recently tested it by pouring a good 8 cups of water into the rear window channel, and now I see a leak at the driver side corner, C Pillar, area.

Is this a fully out of pocket repair? I'm weighing whether it's enough of a leak to risk the repair and cost to have everything ripped apart back there and maybe get a better seal...

I've seen a few posts about home repairs around the brake light, but has anyone attempted home silicone repair of a corner leak? Would be interested trying something like this first.
