This means the dry weight of my truck without cargo, fuel or passengers should be around 5730 lbs.

Cargo includes any weight you add to the truck (e.g. fuel, passengers, tools luggage AND the tongue weight of a trailer.)
This is wrong and why he said dry weight.

some arguments above are correct to a point
without the op weighing his truck all anyone is doing is guessing
you can put a lot of things in the ram boxes and dont forget they might have stuff under the rear seat.

once the op comes back with a weight there will be better info

He wants a ballpark figure of what his truck is capable of

The math I showed is not guessing. It is fact and with hundreds of people following it over the past many years...it is accurate to pounds, so much as nothing is in the truck.

That said, you are correct if he has stuff he forgot about in the truck we are guessing.

But with simple math. Math my 10 year old son can do, he can have his answer.

Thank goodness for forums and knowledgeable members. It's amazing how many people out there are towing without a clue. Keep your distance.

Good luck OP!
