So happy to see this forum! I bought a new 4whldrv Dodge Ram Rebel back last October. I love this truck, but recently it has started to make a loud (at times) grinding noise when backing out of the garage.
Here's the weird part, it only does it on cold mornings. I live in a cold winter area in Nevada, this truck is in the garage at night. This noise only happens when cold and backing out of my garage. I do not set the
emergency brake at night as I am on level ground. I have not figured how to upload a short "Quicktime" video so you all could hear the noise. Please note this is beyond normal break squeal the truck only has 6k miles.
Has anyone had or heard of this issue?

Congrats on the purchase! A little Ram Truck history for you, Ram separated into it's own brand from Dodge back in 2009. If you look around you new Ram Rebel you will not see any Dodge logos or markings!

Good luck with the Truck!

I have the same noise. I have nothing concrete to base this on, but I think that it is caused by the combination of rust bloom/frost on the brake components overnight, and the brake-assist system engaging to clear it out. I don't think that its anything damaging or serious, just kind of annoying.

Hi Rondo13,
We're so glad that you're enjoying your truck! It's understandable why this sound may be concerning. If this is something you would like your dealer to address, you may also send us a private message and we will gladly provide an additional layer of assistance while your truck is at the dealer.
